I have been here before and knew I was dining there that night between 1900-2000. I ate breakfast and lunch as well as a piece of fruit around 1700. I had the 8 hour pork roast and it was good and seasoned well. Menu is not all inclusive and you must pay for salad, vegetable and drinks etc. normal for... More

If you have the money to spend, the chef's tasting is an amazing experience! I went with my husband, two brothers and their wives. We had so much fun! After asking each one of us if we had any special preferences (for example, my brother is lactose intolerant), the waiter loges and talks to the chef. You don't order anything... More

Was here on Valentines Day. The food was very good but for the portions a bit to pricey. The filet was ok( I can make better at home on the grill) great atmosphere and great service but for what we spent it just seemed high. Traveled to Europe and spent half as much and food was better

We were in KC to celebrate our anniversary and Michael Smith Restaurant did not disappoint. The food and service were both very good. Michael was table hopping that night so we got to visit with him since we were recommended to him by a chef friend of his in Omaha. He was very friendly. The room is nice and on... More

We went here using a groupon, and it still was not enough. The menu was interesting, and had many selections. The food was artfully prepared, but not as amazing as the reviews led me to believe.

5 of us ate here and everyone was delighted with the service, food quality, selection and the wine. I ordered a wine off the list, and as often happens when I find and interesting value, quality wine, they were out of it. The waiter suggested three others with which I was not familar, and we ordered two and both were... More

As a frequent diner here, I can't say enough good things about the place. The food, the service, and the operation are all excellent. The menu changes frequently to take advantage of seasonal offerings, and the Chef's tasting menu is always fun to try. If you like wine, let them pick one for you. They always get it right and... Sophisticated yet down to earth. Prompt service, knowledgable service and great flavors! It's always risky business ordering fish in the Midwest but my halibut tasted fresh and light. My husbands pork was tender. Portions just right It was a little noisy but not enough to take away our great experience!

The menu will take a while to read through, because every dish is a unique creation. Masterfully paired and prepared food are a delight to the palette. Nothing on the menu looks familiar, but every mouthful is outstanding. I would at here daily if I could ...

I love great food and great atmosphere. The atmosphere was excellent but the food was not. Based on the reviews and the reputation of the chef, I had very high hopes. My fiancé and I ordered the seared sirloin which came with potato and carrot hash, and onion rings. When served there is a very small portion of the hash,... More
