Anniversary Dinner

I've always like the Bluestem but we don't go very often because of the price. It is clearly one of the most expensive restaurants in town and the menu is very limited. My husband and I had brunch at Bluestem on a Sunday. Made reservations and were seating right away. The food was perfect. My husband had the omelet of the day. Bacon, cheese and broccoli. I had eggs Benedict. We split a cinnamon roll. Service was great and food was wonderful. Can't wait to return.

My fantastic wife Beth treated me to a celebratory dinner here for my graduation from Walden University. We had the ten-course dinner with wine pairings and were completely satisfied with everything! The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming on a cold and snowy night. We started with the celeriac, green apple, red beet with dijon mustard salad... More

We splurged on a night out with our son and daughter in law. We moved to KC a year ago and wanted to try the James Beard award winner! There is limited parking and our reservation was for 9PM. It was very cold and snowy. My husband had to park quite a distance away. Why is there no Valet when... More

Bluestem wins awards year after year for a reason. They are always good always unique and always busy. One of the best Happy Hours in the city as well.

We visit Bluestem off and on throughout the year for Sunday Brunch and love it. We decided to spend New Year's Eve with them this year and are very glad we did. The seven course meal was perfection!! Foods that I normally wouldn't have ordered but I am so glad were part of the meal. I would highly recommend Bluestem... More

This is clearly an upscale and innovative restaurant , with an open kitchen with 5 chefs, and multi-course menu option. Reservations are expected, especially on weekends, with weekend seatings around 6--6;30 PM OR 8--8;30 PM. The menu offers several options, and we each selected three savory courses,no desert. (Be advised that you will be offered sweets at the end of... More

We came here to celebrate my husband's Birthday and were expecting the same type of experience we had here several years ago when we came to celebrate our anniversary. The chef at this restaurant has won the James Beard award and I believe his wife is the pastry chef. The meal we had several years ago was amazing. It was... More

We visited Bluestem for my birthday. Even though Kansas City has excellent restaurants, this was as sophisticated as any restaurant I've dined at in major cities. The 3,5 or 10 course menu has many unexpected choices. Perhaps the most unique was the sturgeon, beet, and short rib dish my husband got for his entree. It had a horseradish cream and... More

Disclaimer: Up until 2 years ago, the best meal/dining experience that I ever had was at Tru restaurant in Chicago in the early 2000's. It was the first time that I spent over $100 per person for a dining experience. It what also the first time that I spent over $50 per person AND completely saw the value. Coincidence that... More
