Expensive, but worth it

This is a lovely restaurant with exquisitely prepared food, and customers know that. All tables were full by 6:30. There is no better restaurant to experience.... Foodies can't miss it, it is a divine experience for the palate. Sophisticated dining at its best. Charming staff, attention to detail, ultimate service. Expensive but worth it. The wine pairing is low key entertainment in itself. If you want to experience it on a lower budget, eat in the bar. Best food... More

I usually eat in the dining but was alone so I ate at the bar. Menu had multiple options - very good salad, burger, steak, and several cheeses for desert. Service was very good - nice place if you have to eat by yourself, want high quality without formality.

Everything we had was wonderful. Our favorites were the rabbit tortellini (never would have thought I'd try rabbit!), scallops, and beet/cucumber salad. Wine pairings and service were excellent. The ambiance is definitely a little pretentious, so I would give Novel the edge there. Other than that I have no complaints and hope to visit again.

Bluestem offered on the best meals I've had in my entire life. We did the 10 course dinner with the accompanying wine pairings. Each course brought a new set of delights for our senses. Beautifully presented fare with wonderful aromas and amazing flavors. The service was outstanding with multiple staff members sharing with us various bits of information about the... More

Service is wonderful - menu had a lot of interesting choices and complexity. Wine list is very good and reasonable prices. So why not a 5 circle rating? Couple of things - in a restaurant of this quality I do look at the price vs experience. What I would prefer to see is a menu that has a mix of... More

I've always like the Bluestem but we don't go very often because of the price. It is clearly one of the most expensive restaurants in town and the menu is very limited. They offer a 3, 5 or 10 course meal with only 2 options per course. Last nights meal was one of the best experiences I've ever had in... More

My husband and I had brunch at Bluestem on a Sunday. Made reservations and were seating right away. The food was perfect. My husband had the omelet of the day. Bacon, cheese and broccoli. I had eggs Benedict. We split a cinnamon roll. Service was great and food was wonderful. Can't wait to return.

My fantastic wife Beth treated me to a celebratory dinner here for my graduation from Walden University. We had the ten-course dinner with wine pairings and were completely satisfied with everything! The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming on a cold and snowy night. We started with the celeriac, green apple, red beet with dijon mustard salad... More

We splurged on a night out with our son and daughter in law. We moved to KC a year ago and wanted to try the James Beard award winner! There is limited parking and our reservation was for 9PM. It was very cold and snowy. My husband had to park quite a distance away. Why is there no Valet when... More
