The food was good, good choices, the waitstaff was excellent--made it a fun place to eat! We enjoyed the atmosphere as much as the food!

This is a place that time has passed by. Some may find the classic feel charming, but I think it is just tired and worn out. There a better options for burgers in Kansas City that are more interesting and trendy. But if you are with your children and looking for a quick bite (but not fast food) near the... More

Burgers were dry and squished. Fries were room temperature and flavorless. The food alone would have been three stars. Not horrible but not good either. The service on the other hand was absolutely terrible. The waitress was obviously annoyed to be there. Took mutiple reminders to get all of our order (3 burgers, 2 half and half fries, 2 Cokes,... This is very affordable and was a lot of fun. It's not luxurious, it's a diner. But service was great and friendly, and burgers were very tasty. When they bring out the "skyscraper" shake (which was very good), they all come over and sing a little song including a tambourine, I thought this was great. I actually thought a single... More

We were here for a late dinner on a Friday night. We did not plan on eating here, but could not find any parking closer to the Plaza. However, we were very happy with our meal! We all ordered Winstead's, which are the burgers. Ketchup, mustard, pickle and onion are included in the price, but you can add cheese, bacon,... More

....lamented my husband with his double Winsteads steakburger! It was his first visit and my second since childhood. Burgers were ok but not the quality of the "old days"! Buns were squished and table was slanted. So sad!

I've been going to Winstead's since the 60's. You have to experience this restaurant for the nostalgic decor and the burgers - and shakes!!! It may not be the very best food any more, but it is still a great experience.

Convenient location, clean, friendly staff and fair prices. If you want a burger make sure you get a double cause the patties are very thin. But guess the place has a lot of history.

Winstead's was recommended to us. The best part of the meal was the milkshakes which were creamy and delicious. The meal itself was good, but not anything that was wonderful. Plain food, but a fun atmosphere and good if you have kids who really like french fries and ketchup! It is an institution so going there was a great place... More

I have been coming here since I was a child. The structure could use some improvements, but the food. If you want to see the way this used to be done come here. The staff is friendly the food is inexpensive and good. A must see in KC.
