My son and I stopped at the City Diner at 6:00 am on a weekday morning. We found the building to be old, run down, and not very inviting. However, the food was good and the service was outstanding. Our waitress, a well tattooed lady, was very friendly and delivered our orders promptly. She and another waitress refilled my coffee... More

A friend lives down the street so we walked here for brunch on Sunday. It's kind of a "hole in the wall" place, which I typically think has the best food. I ordered the 12" pancake, and our server actually scoffed at me and mocked me for ordering it, saying that I'd never be able to finish it. (RUDE! I... More

Small and sometimes crowded .. lots of regulars .. interesting wall hangings. Stable wait staff who are all fun and pleasant and accommodating. Food is good, substantial. Breakfast we especially like.

Had the Meatball Dunk at City Diner for lunch and it has a very tasty sugo rosso (red sauce). It's served with three good sized meat balls in a very good tomato based sauce and four pieces of garlic toast to help soak up the sauce. It's only open for breakfast and lunch and the menu for the other offerings... More

The food was admittedly good, but an omelet for $10.00 on special? This is KC not NY. The high price doesn't buy ambiance either as the place is pretty much a dump. Service was slow and it took about 30 minutes to get the food even though we arrived at an off hour. Parking is very limited and tight.

Very small and hard to move around. Had good several good menu choices, but the omelet that 3 of us chose we had to ask for the toast that came with when we ordered. What? the menu says "and toast". My husband ordered tenderloin sandwich but was offered no mayonnaise. Anyway food was average at best.

It is a small diner. We went on a weekday so that was ok. The food was good enough. Burgers, sandwiches, tater tots, fries. The waitress was great.

Any chance I get, my whole family heads down to each. My dad knows the owner, so we are regulars. They know us by heart and since we have a huge family, we try and get the big table. I normally get the cheese omelet with swiss and american cheese. Paired off with tater tots, just amazing!

Found this in "Midwest Living" to do on as part of a day trip. We were at the farmers market and needed some breakfast. Not sure I would do it again. The food was normal. There most diffently was regulars. The Italian sauage in my omelet was GREAT.

They do not have Cinimon Rolls during the week anymore. We were really looking forward to having them. Only on weekends.
