I had the scallops and my husband had the salmon - crazy for KC, right? We both thought it was some of the freshest seafood we had ever tasted. The ambiance in this refurbished schoolhouse was amazing. It's worth taking the time to get there early and explore the shops downstairs. Dress up and... read more

We were here for a business lunch, and it was a first time visit for us both. The setting looks a little intimidating right off the bat--huge brick building, beautifully kept. And I was initially a little put off by the antique shops on the first floor of the building, as it had kind of an overly mature, frumpy feel... More

This old school has become a nice restaurant and antique/curio shop. Imagine a very chic "Cracker Barrel", (a place I never eat). Great food with nice ambiance. Good for lunch.

The reputation of the Webster House as a lunch hangout for older ladies may certainly be true, but that doesn't mean a group of 20-somethings can't stop in to enjoy one of the hidden brunch gems of Kansas City. Made brunch reservations for a Sunday morning for a group of five and we weren't quite sure what to expect. As... More

My first time to the Webster house was an amazing overall experience. The food was excellent, the boutique shops have such a variety and the staff is very attentive.

Went there with a group of 20+. We were seated in the same room but at three tables. The rooms were decorated with antiques. Even the bathroom was lovely. The food was good. I had a meatloaf sandwich which 2 people could share, and did. Good service and very accommodating for such a large group. The shop on the first... More

We were going to a program at the Kauffman Center and met friends here for dinner before hand. It was a 2 minute walk from the Kauffman parking lot. I had no idea how beautifully restored the Webster House was. Elegant dark wood paneling with exquisite rugs and a very luxurious overall feel. The menu is pricey but the food... More

Neat antique and clothing shoppes on lower level with well appointed restaurant upstairs. Southern flair and the chef is from South Carolina so he knows Southern cuisine, inside and out. Try the scallops and stay for the creme broulle. Oh, and don't sell the Thai sweet potato soup short...

We visited for the first time during restaurant week. We ordered the scallops which were cooked perfectly. They were served over cheddar grits. The creme brule was one of the best I have ever tasted. The entree was one of the best I have had in Kansas City. Perfect taste and portion size. I was surprised when we entered the... More

The Webster House is a unique dining and shopping experience located in downtown KC in a historic schoolhouse. Enjoy their champagne cocktail while doing some boutique shopping. I visited during December and got to enjoy the beautiful decorations and fantastic food.
