Upon the recommendation of two different couples, my wife and I decided to try Grunauer last Tuesday while we were in Kansas City, Missouri for a Kauffman Center Event. Now, I can't wait for the opportunity to return. Our dinner was exceptional in every detail. The beer selections complement the focus of the menu (Bavarian, German, Austrian) and are served... More

Had dinner here and so glad we did!!! Everything we ordered was delicious!!!! I had the sausage of the day and the best cooked cabbage I ever had!! The charcuterie was awesome and the goulash perfect!! Our server was great too and suggested a beer to my husband that he loved!!! Can't wait to go back!!

This is quite unique with a variety of preparations on the menu and specials. Even the bread offered options and unique flavors. You will not be disappointed with any part of this meal, including the service.

Oh my gosh! I just loved this Austrian place. I cannot remember the German names of any of the dishes but I will do my best to describe them. We started with the assortment of fried mushrooms and the pomme frites with a trio of mayo, paprika, curry, and garlic I think? So delicious! On Sundays they have a 3... More

We arrived early for our reservation and went to sit at the bar, and before we could even order drinks the maître d' came and told us that they could seat us because they had a cancellation, so that was nice. The service was good and I understand them feeling like they have to explain dishes because I'm sure a... More

We were a party of four visiting on 2/7/15. We had stopped by a few days earlier for drinks at the bar, and enjoyed our experience. Anyway, after being seated, our server, Alex, came by,asked us if we wanted to order drinks, which we did. The drinks were delivered in a timely fashion. When we were ready to order our... More

My friend and I arrived Saturday evening at 5:20 PM. We were told all tables were booked until 8:30. Sat at the bar and enjoyed dinner with drinks. Service was very good. Food was very good. Not quite as good as Rheinlander/Gustav's in the Portland, Oregon, area which has been my favorite for decades. But very good. The sauerkraut was... More

This is the second time I have dined here. Have to say that the first time was better, restaurant week was my second time (I hate restaurant week, should have known better). Love the martini's with sauerkraut, beet and pickle juice! Our entrees were good and the strudel outstanding. Just brimming with tart apples and just a small amt of... More

I wound up here for a Saturday Lunch after running into three nearby places that didn't open until 5. Couldn't have been more pleased by the outcome. The service was excellent, the food was delicious. There were 6 in our party and we tried soups, salads, sausages, and a cheese platter. Began with a Bloody Mary and ended with a... More
