Every time we are in KC we go out of our way to get to this place. We had a 2 hour wait for a seat and it was well worth it. The meals are huge so a takeout box is a must. We had the chicken meal which is great and the sweet rolls are great. Will stop here... More

Go early so you can get a seat..... The chicken and sides are the best I have ever had... You will not be able to eat all they bring you. We eat there every time very visit.

I went on a recommendation from a colleague when in the area for business. Chicken was good - not great - but the sides were outstanding. The green beans with chunks of chicken were delicious, as were the mashed potatoes. And the cinnamon rolls were great as well. Will definitely take my family there if they come out to KC... More

First off, the atmosphere is charming. The restaurant used to be an old plantation style house. There are 18 acres of grounds to explore. The staff was super friendly and the service was great. However, I certainly did not feel the food was worth the 102 check (tip included) It was very bland. Tasteless. My husband, who never salts anything,... More

We were told this was the best pan fried chicken around and we were not steered wrong. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, around 230p and waited about 45mins. They just opened at 2p and they place was already packed. Tasty and tender fried chicken, the best we have had. Sides were also good and the mashed potatoes with their... More

Waitress was fantastic. She made sure we had what we needed at all times. Food was fantastic. There is enough food to split between two people and two children. Wait time was over an hour. Only parties of 10 can be booked ahead of time.

Everything lacked seasoning. Green beans out of a can....really. Instant mashed potatoes and tasteless gravy. Chicken was just average and overpriced.

This was recommended to us by a friend in Southern California who had lived in KC and raved about this restaurant - We ended up having a 1 1/2 hour wait on a Friday nite - Glad we stayed, convinced to stay actually, when we saw regulars come in after we did, and who did not bat an eye when... More

Go on a nice day when you can wander around the grounds during your (likely) wait. Our waitress was very good. The fried chicken is really five-star remarkable: tender, juicy, and greaseless. The cinnamon rolls are surprisingly good, too. The food is like time travel to the '50s (I know, I was there). I think the most recent innovation on... More

We were told of Stroud's by a guest at our hotel. He raved about the pan fried chicken and portion sizes. However he did not tell us of the popularity of the restaurant. Our wait time was between 1 1/2-2 hours. The food was amazing and worth the wait.
