Food Good - Cleanliness Lacking

I'm very torn about writing this review because Succotash came so highly recommended from friends and family, so I had to check it out. I'll admit, I'm kind of a snob and a clean freak when it comes to my home and places I go, so Succotash was kind of off-putting with it's cleanliness. Let's... read more

I am not sure, but it felt like it was the only open breakfast restaurant on New Year day in Kansas City, which made us feel very lucky. They have a wide range of breakfast food and it was delicious. The wait staff was very friendly and quick. I also liked the decoration. It looks like a very hip place.

The decor was eclectic and interesting. We visited for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We arrived around 9:00 and we were immediately seated. We beat the rush but people waited for tables so we took that as a good sign that the food would be good. My husband ordered the kitchen sink and I had the blueberry pancakes. Both meals... More

We had nobody greet us at checkin stand and despite tables open were told to wait at the counter. Once seated instead of taking a drink order the waitress left then took forever to come back with even any menus. After we finally ordered, fifteen minutes later the brain dead waitress informs us they are out of what one of... More

I can't wait to go back. This place has a fresh juice menu. Yum. I personally had the pork hash. I was told by my neighbor, at the counter, that this dish was featured on Diners, Drive ins and Dives. Which is why he came to this place from North Carolina. The menu has a large variety of outside of... More

This place is one of my regular eateries when I'm in Kansas City. You can't beat the food, the service, or the environment. A little offbeat which is the way I like it.

We enjoyed breakfast at Succotash on a Saturday morning. Thankfully, we beat the rush and we were seated quickly. The menu wasn't very complete, meaning toppings were not listed and not explained well by the waitstaff. The barista made a delicious cappuccino, but it took a very long time. The atmosphere was very trendy and the portions were plentiful. Although... More

This is without hesitation one of the best breakfasts I've ever had either in or out of a restaurant. I've always had a mental idea of what breakfast SHOULD be like and the Farmstand is pretty much it. I had the Little Richard Expresso/Coke and it was an experience. It's expensive but you get a lot of drink for the... More

We tried Succotash for lunch on a Friday and the overall experience was okay. I enjoyed my food - Swedish pancakes with over medium eggs and bacon. The pancakes were filled with lignonberries which were pretty good. Other reviewers have described the decor as eclectic of funky but for me, it just looked like a garage sale exploded - and... A wide-ranging menu that might at first seem ambitious but is actually very well done. I had the Swedish pancake breakfast with lingonberry folded into the thin pancakes making a great tart contrast. Eggs over easy done perfectly, and excellent hash browns. My friend had pretty much the same. The next table over I saw a plate of Croque Monsieur... More
