Make sure you have lots of time

Decided to go here for a friend's birthday. We did the four course meal-I had the California salad, Land and Sea entree, and the Flaming Turtle. Appetizer was an asparagus dish. Food was great, except wasn't a huge fan of the chicken. Had a cocktail with dinner-and my share of the bill was $50. The... read more

First time eating at a Fondue restaurant. It was an experience. We did the 4 coarse, starting with two different types of cheeses. Yum. Then onto the wedge salad. Dinner you have to cook yourself in the pots of boiling broth. Not really into going out and doing the cooking but this was ok for what it was. The food... More

We went with another couple for a parent's night out. It was wonderful. Usually it takes my husband and I 2 to 2 1/2 hours to get through four courses here. It took us about 3 1/2 when we went this time. It just seemed like a longer amount of time went by between courses being brought to the table.... More

We used to live in KC and had heard a couple of nice things about The Melting Pot and decided to give it a try for our anniversary dinner. It would be something different as it's fondue. We were really excited and traveled quite a ways. First, the atmosphere was dark and musty. I also noticed bugs crawling across the... More

Long wait at the bar. We think they forgot us even though the place was empty. If I'm going to spend $50 a head on dinner I expect to be able to eat everything on my plate. When we told the server that as vegetarians we couldn't eat some items on our dessert plate he told us to eat the... More

Ate here on Friday at lunch. 1 adult & 2 kids $80.00. Kids ordered off kid's menu. They each got 9 bites of food - that's it - 3 shrimp, 3 steak, 3 chicken. I ordered the lunch special - 1 cheese fondue, 1 salad, 8 bites (2 chicken, 2 shrimp, 2 steak, 2 yucky, yucky, yucky raviolis). I ordered... More

I had never been to a fondue place and this was really fun. The atmosphere was great. It was like being in a wine cellar which I found really cool. Also the food was great. We chose a 4 cheese fondue for the first course and had a salad for the second course and that was all that we needed.... More

The food here is very good and its a lot of fun to go there! The only drawback is that it's even pricey for their specials..but if you are a tourist and have never had a fondue experience I think you would not be disappointed!

We always want to like this restaurant on our trips to KC…if you don't care about service, and you have the time to wait for a table (even though their are plenty of open tables, there always seems to be a significant wait) then this restaurant is fine. Our table had to be wiped off after we sat down because... More

Have visited this place several times and never had a bad experience...Took my friends kids here today for a fun quick lunch...the food was excellent as always but it was extremely slow service. It ended up takin almost 2 hours for lunch (one cheese pot and entrees). The kids 6 & 8 were quickly bored and ready for the next... More
