Stopped in Thursday Oct. 2, after setting up for the American Royal BBQ competition. The three of us were soaking wet as it rained all day. Tried to find the lunch menu. It is mixed in with the entire menu, which is large. I was craving fried catfish. It hit the spot! My friends got blackened tilapia and catfish. Beans... More

Went on a Saturday before the rush. We ordered the crab cakes & I also got the beignets with chicory coffee. Crab cakes were a pleasant surprise and the beignets are worth getting.

Looked forward to visit based on comments from friends. Five of us were there on a Sunday evening--arrived about 6:00 p.m. Service was so-so, food mediocre at best. Not really bad enough to complain about, but certainly have no interest in returning.

We have to admit that KC is a BBQ place, not a Cajun place. That said, this is pretty good food for Cajun in Kansas City. I took my son's girlfriend for a girls' day out, and she chose Jazz. We ordered the onion rings for an appetizer, which were a bit greasy, but nicely battered - the side sauce... More

I keep going back to Jazz for my Cajun fix. The menu hasn't changed for years, but what is there is nothing short of fantastic. If you can't find something on the seemingly endless menu to please your palette, you need another drink.. I always stop there when I'm in town to get the Blackened Catfish, Chicken a La Mer,... Had I never been to New Orleans, Jazz probably would have been amazing. However, I've been to New Orleans on numerous occasions and Jazz just doesnt measure up. The food is good, don't get me wrong, but there is a spiciness to Cajun food that Jazz lacks. We had the stuffed catfish and the chicken a la mer... both were... More

Jazz has everything you want from a cajun Louisiana kitchen. They even have alligator. My favorite dish is the Chicken a la Mer. The lobster cream sauce is out of this world. When there is live music it can be very loud so if you don't like really loud live music near your table, I would avoid the evenings when... More

I can NOT wait until I can travel back with my family just so I can have them experience the greatness of this restaurant. The food I had was perfect after a long flight from Australia! Will go back!

This place is adorable and close to KU, so ate there many times. I am a NOLA girl, so it is not what I expect from the dishes. It is still very good but not authentic NOLA. I do like the live music and the fun atmosphere. Great dishes and staff, great prices!

Jazz has been around for a long time. I remember years ago getting the stuffed catfish every time I ate here for lunch. Absolutely delicious, but heart-attack inducing. Besides eating at the Legends location a year or two ago (which was ok; certainly not as good as this location though), it had been quite some time. We went on a... More
