This place is adorable and close to KU, so ate there many times. I am a NOLA girl, so it is not what I expect from the dishes. It is still very good but not authentic NOLA. I do like the live music and the fun atmosphere. Great dishes and staff, great prices!

Jazz has been around for a long time. I remember years ago getting the stuffed catfish every time I ate here for lunch. Absolutely delicious, but heart-attack inducing. Besides eating at the Legends location a year or two ago (which was ok; certainly not as good as this location though), it had been quite some time. We went on a... More

Hello TripAdvisor, my name is Blue...and I am a Jazzaholic! Now, I am a big eater. I love everything about food, and have eaten many different kinds and styles of food, but I have a special place in my heart for Southern style food, especially Cajun. I was blessed with a Southern-born mother, who passed that love onto me. So... More

Love the Chicken A La Mer. I've had it several times. Steak is always good. You have to have the hush puppies. My husband always gets red beans & rice. The chocolate beignets are the greatest dessert they have. We've made this a regular spot for us. Never had a bad meal. Wait time can be long at times. Rick... More

The food is good but even the mild dishes are spicy. Nice bar, good service. Can get a bit loud when the band is playing. Not sure kids would enjoy it.

Jazz is a great Louisiana style kitchen in the heart of Kansas City. The food is very authentic, right down to the crawfish. Highly recommended

Simply the best cajun food I have had the pleasure of eating. Seafood fettucini or chicken alamer, it is all very, very good. They serve it with a bread and a spicy garlic butter. Put that into a bowl, not a cup of gumbo and you will have a huge smile on your face. I always love the cajun food... More

My favorites include crawfish etoufee, blackened catfish po'boy, creole coleslaw, hushpuppies, dirty rice, fried pickles and so much more. They have some unique specials like Voodoo balls (stuffed hushpuppies with sausage & rice) and A La Mer sauce (creamy, crab and seafood sauce) that they serve alongside the Voodoo balls and on chicken. If you don't like heat, be sure... More

We decided to try a new restaurant because fireworks were rained out. Jazz was okay. It was extremely noisy! The place is in dire need of a revamp - ceiling fans were rocking dangerously (in my opinion) and the place just didn't seem very clean. But, there were a lot of patrons in there so we thought it would be... More

Kansas City is fortunate to have the Jazz Kitchen, the only mainstream Cajun dish restaurant chain. The dishes are spicy and probably fatty, with abundant servings. Live music at times, and beer/wine.
