These people work their butts off to make your experience amazing. The food is impeccable and the staff is so kind. I love the old charm and décor of this place in Brookside!

This is a great place to eat, wonderful food, great atmosphere and wonderful wine. There was no wait, seated immediately and the service was great. We will return when visiting in Kansas City.

Nice upscale atmosphere, attentive service and the menu has good variety. Try the Gnocchi! The bar is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink; "Coop" the mixologist is great!

We were traveling with a large group of 20. It was very challenging to find a place to fit everyone that night. When we found Carmen's we walked in and it was a bar, then they sent us upstairs to eat. There was no one else eating that night, we thought that was weird. But, service was great and the... More

I had a delightful time at this place during my last visit so I rushed back to try it again-didn't work. I have often said when a place isn't busy they are out of sync. We were told of the special as we were still getting seated? They were out of the wine we wanted and, of course, suggested some... More

We were desperate to escape the touristy crush of the Country Club Plaza for dinner. Given that obscure challenge, the staff at the Raphael suggested a neighborhood restaurant close-by: Carmen's in Brookside (about a mile south of the Plaza). What a wonderful surprise it was! No, the Brookside version it is not going to be the well-lit upscale place you... More

Dined here last night with wife, daughter, son-in-law & 3 month old granddaughter. Found it on urban spoon, made reservation and ventured out into the cold. Our table & high chair were immediately available. Wait staff was attentive, patient, knowledgable and very helpful. Bread served was warm & soft with crust that was just right. Due to the baby, we... More

This is a great Italian spot in a very worthy-to-check-out neighborhood, Brookside. They don't nickel and dime you for the extras. A really good house salad, with various veggies, comes with your meal...NOT the basic iceburg lettuce and Italian dressing! The menu is large and I love everything I've had. The spiedini is great and so is the beef modiga.... More

I have had some decent meals at Carmen's. We visited again on New Year's Eve, and there some issues. A lost reservation was met with swift managememt intervention and a table readily provided. The preferred beer of my companion was not available, though, despite having been offered by the friendly server. His chicken spideni was pronounced marvelous, but my salmon... More
