Delicious BBQ, underwhelming sides

The pulled pork was absolutely delicious, but the fries were underwhelming. The service was friendly and fast. I'd definitely go again.

I know this is a huge claim, but I will stand by it with no problem. Arthur's is one of only a handful of places that i will actually order ribs (though my favorite there is the brisket). Their smoker is old, "well-seasoned" and consistently puts out the best BBQ of any I have had, anywhere. And trust me, I... More

After hearing about how good Arthur Bryant's is, I was woefully let down. When in KC, one is supposed to order burnt ends, a specialty of KC BBQ. I dutifully did this and was rewarded with a pile of cold (COLD!) meat drowned in an average sauce. The image of dog's breakfast comes to mind. The ribs were marginally better.... More

Stopped off on a recent trip to KC. Great food. Had the ribs and sausage. One of the oldest BBQ joints in the city.

If you want to try authentic Kansas City barbecue then you have to try Arthur Bryant's. Great brisket, ribs, turkey, chicken, burnt ends and more. Sides are great as well - cole slaw, baked beans, fries. If it's your first time you should stick to the burnt ends. They are cooked in a great BBQ sauce and they're one of... More

I was in KC for work and wanted to taste some KC BBQ I always hear about. This place was hands down the best BBQ I have ever had at a restaurant and I love BBQ. The burnt ends and pulled pork were killer! I was impressed with sides too! Great place for a taste of KC BBQ! The location... More

I love my BBQ. I love my KC BBQ... and there is no other place quite like Arthur Bryants. Oklahoma Joes may get the fanfare (well deserved), and Jack Stacks may be a better locale when dinning with business associates... but for the best BBQ in KC (and possibly the country, if not the world) is Arthur Bryants. The inside... More

If you are in a hurry, they get you through the line pretty fast. The BBQ is good and you get a lot. I personally get the combo beef and port sandwich and fries, just about more than I can handle. The sweet BBQ sauce is very good too, but they offer several others.

The location seemed a little sketchy, but it was filled with people enjoying the food. I thought the food was average, with more fat than meat on my ribs. The atmosphere was unique, and it was worth a visit for local BBQ, but I prob won't go again.

Didn’t come to announce a culinary judgement from a mountaintop. Simply here to savor a living, working American cultural and historical site. The place that put Kansas City bbq on the world map. This no-frills eating hall — with its greasy tables, plastic plates, and a cafeteria-style ordering protocol inside a nondescript red brick building — is as much a... More
