Description: The Majestic Restaurant carries on the Kansas City traditions of great food and great jazz. We serve brunch Saturday and Sunday, lunch Monday-Friday, and dinner seven nights a week. Featuring Kansas City's best dry-aged beef, chops, and seafood and located in the historic Fitzpatrick Saloon building at 10th and Broadway in downtown Kansas City, The Majestic Restaurant offers a true Kansas City dining experience like no other. Enjoy a great steak and fine wine in our main dining room alongside a grand bar dating back to 1910, or have dinner in our lower level jazz club, the site of an actual speakeasy during prohibition, all while listening to some of Kansas City's best jazz musicians seven nights a week. An extensive wine list, creative cocktails by nationally renowned bartender Shawn Moriarty, a list of over 100 whiskeys, and a sinful selection of delectable homemade desserts provide the perfect accompaniment to the meal and the music.

Visited KC for a long weekend and was interested in trying this place. We switched a Friday reservation for Sunday, which meant no jazz trio, but there was a very nice piano player (until 8, then he packed up his stuff). Tin roof, great old bar, checked out the downstairs where the band usually played and that was lovely, too.... More

Great bar and bartenders. I can not stress that enough if you are into libations, this is the place. The steaks are great and the service was up there. For me you cant go wrong with their KC ribeye.

Don't let the location throw you off. Buildings on either side are being rehabbed and it looks a little shabby from the outside. At the suggestion of our concierge, we ate here on a Thursday night. We wanted live music with our meal and we got more than we expected. We made a reservation for the "Jazz floor" which is... More

What a treat...excellent steaks and fabulous sides (mac and cheese is a real winner), plus excellent service (Ted is a star!)...add to that the jazz. What a great experience. The wine list is very good and not priced out of sight. We were quite pleased to see a younger crowd too dressed up for a night out. We don't hesitate... More

Food average at best. Over priced. Ridiculous portions. No sides and/or greens. If you are visiting MTL, PLEASE go elsewhere to have a good experience. Quartier General (byow), Le Serpent, L'Express, Big in Japan, anywhere!!!!

This was our second visit to the Majestic and we enjoyed it just as much. The atmosphere is a throwback to the 1950s and this time we were there for dinner so enjoyed the jazz music downstairs while dining. The steaks that my husband and I had were the best we ever had and those at our table that had... More

All of us have a special remembrance of a great steakhouse from years gone by. This great “majestic” eatery reminds me of a wonderful steakhouse I grew up with in Oklahoma City, "Glen's Hickory Inn." Except the Majestic has a much more colorful history. During prohibition it was known as "Fitzpatrick's Speakeasy/entertainment house." Just walking in takes you way back.... More

My wife and I visited The Majestic for the first time recently. It is a Kansas City landmark and a place all visitors to Kansas City who enjoy jazz and a good meal should visit. The jazz club is downstairs and takes you back in time to a year of white linen tablecloths, attentive service, good food and good jazz.... More
