Description: The Majestic Restaurant carries on the Kansas City traditions of great food...
The Majestic Restaurant carries on the Kansas City traditions of great food and great jazz. We serve brunch Saturday and Sunday, lunch Monday-Friday, and dinner seven nights a week. Featuring Kansas City's best dry-aged beef, chops, and seafood and located in the historic Fitzpatrick Saloon building at 10th and Broadway in downtown Kansas City, The Majestic Restaurant offers a true Kansas City dining experience like no other. Enjoy a great steak and fine wine in our main dining room alongside a grand bar dating back to 1910, or have dinner in our lower level jazz club, the site of an actual speakeasy during prohibition, all while listening to some of Kansas City's best jazz musicians seven nights a week. An extensive wine list, creative cocktails by nationally renowned bartender Shawn Moriarty, a list of over 100 whiskeys, and a sinful selection of delectable homemade desserts provide the perfect accompaniment to the meal and the music.

Jazzy, Good steaks but stuffy atmosphere

Went with a group of 15 with reservation. Initial entry was a small wait area but inside was stuffy, hot and greeters were not too friendly in the downstairs jazz area. Main floor eating area was stuffy with cigar smoke and just warm. Too many people in a small area. Once our reservation time came... read more

We just enjoyed a fantastic meal here prior to a symphony concert. When you walk into this historic restaurant you feel like you've stepped into a Prohabition-era speak-easy. They have preserved Kansas City's jazz tradition by having live music every night (ask for a downstairs table). My husband enjoyed a very good KC strip dinner and I had one of... More

Have eaten here several times, usually for special occasions and have been most pleased every single time. The steaks have been superb, having a genuine "steakhouse" taste that I can't replicate at home. I think that is the whole point of having a steak out--given the huge extra cost, it ought to be better than what you can do at... More

Had the pleasure of going to the Majestic during the holidays. I always like to sit downstairs and listen to the great music. This particular evening the Hermon Mehari Trio was playing. This trio is sensational and Hermon Mehari is a sensational trumpet player. We ordered the steak soup which was hearty and delicious. For dinner our party ordered the... More

Upon the recommendation of staff at our hotel, we visited this little gem for a weekday dinner. The atmosphere was wonderful - full of history and mystery. A jazz pianist played while we ate tender and tasty steaks. Great service. All the tables were full on a Monday night. If we ever get to KC again this is one place... More

My wife and I decided to try the majestic out for our anniversary, absolutely amazing!!!! We started off with drinks upstairs, Sean the bartender was totally awesome he was very helpful with our drink selections. We then went downstairs for a wonderful dinner, some of the best ribeyes we have ever eaten. But I will say the live jazz music... More

We stopped here for dinner after a productive day of meetings. First of all, this place is beautiful on the inside with dark woods and original tile floor and tin ceiling from 1911. Downstairs is the remnant of 1920's era "speakeasy". The steaks are some of the best I have ever eaten. I had the Majestic. Simply outstanding!!

Pre game before dancing. Sean is the best bartender I have ever seen! Dead serious. He is quick and pours great drinks. Great meat and cheese plate. The place is fun and if you want a smoke you can go up stairs. Will return. See pics

Very attractive, dark wood panelled restaurant, noted for its steaks. It is, indeed, why we chose to stop at this restaurant over others in Kansas City. Imagine our disappointment at being served a steak that was tough and not cooked properly. Fortunately, after rescue attempts failed, the manager had another steak prepared; what an improvement. Staff training and good management... More
