In comparison to dinner there 2 years ago, staff are friendlier, the menu is improved (less small plate, more recognizable choices), without sacrificing variety, quality, or fun. Yes, it's expensive, but seemed much better value than last time.

Contemporary décor and young and modern ambience mixed with excellent old world food and a world class presentation. What a great place to eat. The best German Restaurant in the USA. The Menu is outstanding, the beer and wine selection is incredible and the service is simply excellent.

This is a restaurant with great service and an innovative chef. Delicious locally-sourced food, presented in unusual ways. Great sauces, interesting wine list, and engaging servers. Located in the Crossroads Arts district near downtown.

I am in Kansas City on business and met a friend who lives here for dinner. She suggested Affare & we had a delightful experience. Our server was fabulous in explaining the menu and the specials, plus telling us we could even ask the chef to "surprise us" with a special 4 or 6-course meal. Our salads, entrees, and desserts... Affare has an outstanding brunch menu on Sundays. We have have eaten there several times after church and loved it every time. The omelet of the day is always a nice surprise and the rest of the menu is great. They also have bottomless Mimosas during the brunch time. We highly recommend it!

The staff are a bunch of hipsters that are very proud of themselves. The food is nothing special. When you want to have prices that compete with other top restaurants in town then you need to perform to the level. This place does not plain and simple.

I had the stuffed quail that wrapped in a cabbage. Delicious and beautiful dish. Quail was perfectly cooked and moist. I will be back.

Our dinner experience exceeded our expectations. Seated promptly. We elected to sit outside since it was a perfect July night. Service was spot on. We started with a cocktail off their menu which was outstanding. Then split a btl of wine over dinner. Seared foi grais app was awesome. Melt in your mouth delicious. Salad presentation (pic attached) and flavor... More

Three of us ate here on a Friday night to celebrate a birthday. Two of us has the Jaegerschnitzel with a salad and spaetzle and the other had Wienerschnitzel with a potato side dish. Each entrée was wonderful with a tasty mushroom sauce. We shared a quark (german cheese) dessert that included raspberry ice cream and each of us remarked... More

Came here for lunch recently. I have avoided it because I heard it was "contemporary" German food and I prefer another KC place, Grunauer, for my German/Austrian fare. Came here at a friend's suggestion and it was good. I had a beet/orange salad to start, which was nice. For entree I had a vegetarian plate with red cabbage, sauerkraut, and... More
