Brunch on Sunday with a friend and the hubs. We were seated promptly which was a good thing since there wen't many diners in the restaurant. Ambience was nice. However, with so few diners, it was hard to hear across the table due to the openness/high ceilings. Food: The selection was interesting and not typical for a brunch. I liked... More

After living in NYC for 20 years, my husband is always a huge proponent of getting out of the 'burbs to try new, fine dining destinations in KC. So we were really looking forward to dining at Affare. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were impressed with the space and overall vibe. Although we were seated at an awkward... More

Overall I was pleasantly surprised. Interesting menu. A friend got the sausage platter and was overwhelmed by all the meat. I had the (3) scallops. They were very good and I had plenty because we did have a starter. Just be aware that serving portions can vary significantly.

Evening meal with family: the restaurant is basically a very large rectangular room with interesting art work on the walls, minimalist design features, and a very affable and helpful serving staff. The menu has plenty of variety and they allowed for a few change requests without hesitation. Our cocktails were wonderful creations and quite enjoyable. The mushroom soup was rich,... More

I've been here for dinner and brunch and the food has been wonderful both times! The entree's at dinner are unique and delicious! It's a great place for brunch too! They have unlimited mimosa's for $10! I had an eggs benedict with salmon and my husband had an eggs benedict with smoked ham...both amazing! Eat here soon!!

We went for dinner...I had the fried Brie starter...the cranberry-pear compote was a perfect accompaniment. Excellent! My wife had the mixed greens which also was very good. Entrée for me was seafood risotto. Again, excellent. Seafood consisted of a scallop slice, shrimp, salmon and whitefish over a bed of lemon risotto. Green asparagus on top. Lemon risotto in a German... More

Only the food is usually better at a Wedding Dinner. My husband and I took a friend there for NYE dinner only to find that there was "one" menu at a cost of $75 per person, not including alcohol. We had reviewed their dinner menu that day to try to get a jump start on what to order and were... More

Two friends and I went to this downtown eatery, Affare, and had a fantastic New Year's Day brunch. I'd eaten there once with a friend, but it'd been a few months. When another friend suggested Christmas Day brunch, I was ecstatic. The menu was superb, with a variety of elegant entrees and a few extravagant choices. The bottomless mimosa at... More

My wife and I visited Affare for our first time Christmas week. My opinion was the overall experience was above average. I especially liked the dining area and service. The side salad and pan-seared potatoes were excellent. I did not like the way the Wiener Schnitzel was prepared. In my opinion, the Schnitzel was a little too thin and a... More

We went to Affare last night with our dear friends. This is not my first visit. The food was just what i expected: quality food well prepared! The portions are small, but not too small. It just means that you will have few leftovers. I normally cut my good in half at most restarants and take at least half home.... More
