Endless Mimosas!!

We went for the endless mimosas brunch on Sunday. Either fresh squeezed orange juice or fresh grapefruit are your options. There is an outside patio where we sat and the brunch menu was DELICIOUS! Salmon Benedict and the Mushroom Biscuit Drops and Gravy were the winners.

The description of this restaurant says the chef Celina Tio won the James Beard award, appeared on the Iron Chef as well as Beat Bobby Flay This goes to show don't believe everything you read. On August 15 seven of us went to celebrate a special occasion. The very nice waiter suggested we try the house made pretzels which supposedly... More

Ate here on a recent Sat. eve. and only saw our waiter twice all eve. Our water glasses were left empty the whole dinner even though there were only 4 filled tables inside. The owner was on site and brought our dessert but was in a really big rush so there was no time for comments on our meal. All... More

Ate at JuliaN last nite with my wife and son. The son has been there multiple times for lunch and loves it; but my wife and I had never been. It was a Sunday night so the "family style" option was in play. We gave the waiter our likes and dislikes (i.e. "no fish" for my wife; "no liver" for... More

Tried this place for the first time last night. Service was fine. Décor is minimalist/industrial. Chairs were uncomfortable and too small for regular-sized people. Presentation of food was nice, but we felt portions were too small for the price charged. We split a salad and both had entrees--the pasta dish and trout. We were so hungry after the meal, that... Earlier this week we attended a wine tasting at Julian. Although I've reviewed this restaurant before this was a new and different experience. The owner, Celine Tio discussed how she tasted all the wines being presented before making the menu. The event was one of the best we've had the pleasure of attending. The food was fabulous but what I... More

We are trying to branch out and visit different restaurants, instead of just sticking with our favorites. Julian was a great place to start this process! The food was very good, cooked perfectly, not oversauced, right sized proportions and just very good tasting food! We started with the pretzel bites with cheese sauce, the cheese dip was the best part.... More

We had heard this place was a must and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The staff was all very knowledgeable and on top of things. The place is small and intimate and the open kitchen allows you to see what is going on. The food was amazing and cooked perfectly. Try the trout and the... More

Due to the chef's reputation, we hoped for excellent food. Three were in our party. We each ordered different dishes from the top recommended ones. The brussels sprouts, I was told, were cooked very deliciously. The other starters and entrees were mediocre, low nutritional value, and high priced. The service was great and the atmosphere was fine.

My wife and I stop for the night in Kansas City when traveling from home in St. Louis to see her family in rural Kansas. Julian is our go-to restaurant for the stop-over. Third visit this week. The people are delightful, the room soothing and the food always exceptional. Chef Celina Tio makes creative cuisine affordably priced. We'll be back.
