A Delight! Loved the quiche and the rhubarb pie!

Believe your GPS when it says you have arrived! This place is outwardly very unassuming but the food is wonderful. A variety of items, quiche, soups or sandwiches and then there are the big pieces of wonderful pies! Our quiches (a vegetarian and a meat option) were both delicious as was the... read more

Nice, very casual, friendly place for lunch. Had the pot pie, and it was excellent. My husband had the beef sandwich with caramelized onions. Both were large enough to split or take home half. My daughters love this place.

This is really my neighborhood restaurant. I live just two blocks away. It is not large. It does not have a restaurant kitchen so the choices are limited to what they can grill or bake. It is not open for dinner. It is admittedly quirky. But for me it is a comfortable place to have lunch and chat. So, to... More

If you like casual eating...often in the company of people in the arts...this is a great place. A tasty menu, great surroundings, and it feels more like a place you are having a meal with friends rather than going to a restaurant. It's my regular place to have brunch when I'm in Kansas City. If you like formality forget it.... More

We had a lovely Saturday brunch here prior to a family wedding. It was a little hard to find -- it's in a largely residential area that appears to be making a come-back. Very informal place, menu is on the chalk board, and there are lots of choices. They'll do almost any combination you might want! You order at the... More

This is a unique breakfast/brunch/lunch place. It is on a corner surrounded by houses/apartments. If you are driving through a neighborhood you are in the right place. The inside is retro/throwback. They sell odds and ends (sodas, produce, etc.) - almost like a hipster cracker barrel. You order from a counter and then seat yourself and the food is brought... More

One of the best restaurants in KC! Very cute little spot in the Hospital Hill area. This place has never given us a bad plate in a dozen+ visits. Great good, good service. If you are just a visitor or are a local, it is simply one of the best.

I ate here for the first time this morning, and I would go back... I think. I thought my dish was very good. I had the breakfast casserole, which was essentially eggs, sausage, mushrooms, with mushroom gravy on top. It was served with a small slice of watermelon (which seemed to be true for most dishes). Many of the folks... More

I knew from the moment we drove up that this is "my kind of place"..outside tables, funky well kept neighborhood. The inside didn't disappoint. Exactly what I was looking for. Nice menu, great coffee and really friendly folks. Anne, the manager, is awesome. Explained the menu, made great latte and when I asked about the "cucumber soda" she gave me... More

If you are a bit on the adventurous side, You Say Tomato is a place for you! It is a converted olde-time grocery store and the interior is very eclectic and retro. It is very casual , you order at the counter then sit down and they bring your food out to you. We went for brunch and had the... More
