Dining options: Lunch, Dinner, Late Night
Description: Madison's Café, a ‘Jefferson City Tradition’ since 1982, offers casual, relaxed, yet elegant dining, with a focus on northern Italian, American and eclectic cuisine: mouthwatering appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches, pasta, hand-cut steaks, seafood, and a variety of signature dishes. Our menu changes often, reflecting use of locally sourced products: from our daily, fresh, locally baked bread, locally bred and raised Wagyu burgers, produce, to herbs from our own herb garden. Our gluten-free fare, whole wheat pasta, and a wide variety of vegetarian fare pleases the most sensitive palate. Our environment is unique and inviting—a gathering place for family and friends, or perfect for that romantic evening out. We have two excellently appointed private dining rooms for any special event or business meeting. Off-site catering services are available from small intimate gatherings to over 300. Carry out is always available. Al fresco dining on our large patio is wonderful when weather permits! Come to Madison's where you restore your spirit and share the simple pleasures with family and friends…one delicious bite at a time Located in beautiful downtown, two and a half blocks from the Capitol; a half-block from the Governor's Mansion; five blocks from the historic Missouri State Penitentiary; three blocks from the Amtrak Station; about a 1/2 mile from the bridge bike/walk crossing to the Katy Trail, and directly across the street from the Madison Street parking garage.

The average atmosphere ( a little dated room and furniture) sets you up for shockingly excellent food. Ate here after a tiring college visitation day in the area. We were exhausted and a little hungry. We were waited on quickly, and after ordering were served some fresh bread with garlic Parmesan dipping oil prepared for us at our table. Outstandingly... More

Good pastas, salads, and breads, but you might need a flashlight to see your food. The lighting was bad and the entire place needs to be updated. And if the bathroom is going to be in the basement, it should at least have sinks that don't spray to the sides.

I recently went to Madison's Cafe for dinner with a friend. We were planning to walk through the Jeff City street fair after dinner, so we did not order an appetizer or dessert. My friend, a vegetarian, ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo, and was pleased with her dish. I ordered the Pasta Sydney. It was seasoned well, but the chicken was... More

My family and I ate at Madison's recently in Jefferson City, MO, and it was a delightful experience. We especially enjoy their salad with their house dressing. And their steak sandwich is great too.

Stopped here without reservations on July 3rd during Jeff City's 4th of July celebration. Got to eat out on 'street/patio'. Owner was very friendly and personable. Wait staff was on the ball. The food was also nice. We were seated pretty quickly, even though they were pretty busy. Would stop there again when we're in Jeff City next.

I love the location, one block from the Governor's Mansion and 2-3 blocks from The Capitol. The place is cute. The wine was nice , but everything we ordered needed more seasoning. Rather bland. The Caesar salad was unusually" sweet". I didnt care for the food.

I was in Jefferson City on business and catching the Friday evening train back to St. Louis. I only had half an hour. Server Liz did a fantastic and friendly job of satisfying my requirements in the time I had. I had a good meal with a nice, relaxing ambiance--served by a competent professional. Having moonlighted in a fine dining... More

I chose to dine street-side during the Thursday Downtown event. There were 7-8 tables on the patio, but only one server. I was at the restaurant for three hours, so I did not get to enjoy any of the festival because it ended just as I paid my bill. I had beer, wine, a salad, and filet. The filet was... More

I love this place! Great servers, fabulous menu, innovative cuisine as well as classic. I have traveled the world and love mussels. Madison's are the absolute best. The gluten free pasta is also delicious with any one of their sumptuous pasta dishes,a must for me. The Madstack is a favorite of mine I have it as an entree instead of... More
