Madison's Café, a ‘Jefferson City Tradition’ since 1982, offers casual, relaxed, yet elegant dining, with a focus on northern Italian, American and eclectic cuisine: mouthwatering appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches, pasta, hand-cut steaks, seafood, and a variety of signature dishes. Our menu changes often, reflecting use of locally sourced products: from our daily, fresh, locally baked bread, locally bred and raised Wagyu burgers, produce, to herbs from our own herb garden. Our gluten-free fare, whole wheat pasta, and a wide variety of vegetarian fare pleases the most sensitive palate. Our environment is unique and inviting—a gathering place for family and friends, or perfect for that romantic evening out. We have two excellently appointed private dining rooms for any special event or business meeting. Off-site catering services are available from small intimate gatherings to over 300. Carry out is always available. Al fresco dining on our large patio is wonderful when weather permits! Come to Madison's where you restore your spirit and share the simple pleasures with family and friends…one delicious bite at a time Located in beautiful downtown, two and a half blocks from the Capitol; a half-block from the Governor's Mansion; five blocks from the historic Missouri State Penitentiary; three blocks from the Amtrak Station; about a 1/2 mile from the bridge bike/walk crossing to the Katy Trail, and directly across the street from the Madison Street parking garage.

Best place in town!

From the appetizers to the entrees everything was great! The rustic decor was a perfect setting for lunch or a romantic evening. Their muscles were to die for.

The entrées are almost all steak or pasta. I had an excellent shrimp pasta. Pasta was cooked just right, cream sauce was very rich so overpowered the shrimp a little but not enough to take off a point. There was a reasonable wine list but in the heat outside I was more keen on a beer. There is some variety,... More

We asked several people for a restaurant recommendation. All three gave us two restaurant names, and Madison's was the one in common from all three people. Nice ambiance. Outside dining, Good waitress, friendly owner who came and talked to each guest. Most importantly, the food was very good. If Trip Advisor had a 10 scale, this would be a 9.... More

We went here for lunch while on vacation to see family. Luckily we got there early because it filled up fast. The food was great and the wait staff was spot on with their recommendations. I had the small order of Chicken Jalapeno Pasta, a side of Cavatelli and a small Combination salad. All were excellent and I would order... More

We had a group of about twenty five, and they handled us very well. We were in a section kind of all by ourselves, which was nice. The server did a great job, even when people kept moving chairs. The food was pretty good, too.

This is the best Italian Restaurant in Mid-Missouri, if not the whole state, hands down. Over the years we have tried just about everything on the menu, and have never been disappointed! Rob Agee (owner) and all the staff make you feel as if you are family, and the service is always impeccable. We highly recommend this restaurant, and don't... More

My husband had never been to Madison's Cafe. We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated but it was worth it. The staff was so friendly. Our server was very nice and stayed on top of the service. The food and drink were soooo good!! We will definitely be back.
