Enjoyable Evening, but choose wisely!

Enjoyed our last night meal here, garlic prawns, cod in the oven, & Portuguese fillet steak. The garlic prawns were good ( a little oily however) and the cod in the oven was cooked in a lot of oil - maybe not to everyones taste. The fillet steak was cooked to perfection and well presented with... read more

We were lucky that on our last evening in Salema this restaurant had opened for the season. Right beside the prom and beach they have a great location but on a breezy cool night in February the restaurant was warm and welcoming. Nice friendly welcome from the 2 waiters, the food was really good, nice prawn cocktail served on a... More

Having been to Salema for the past 13 years the staff at Boia are not just friends but feel like family...Even in August when they were run off their feet with the busiest season ever there was still time for that welcome Portuguese smile....oh and the fish....brilliant as ever....

The fish here is so good you want to go back again and again, Simply grilled with salad and gorgeous crusty bread; plus a recommended white wine of great quality: SUPERB!! We ate here twice and have booked a villa close by to return next year. I cant wait to once again sit here in a cool breeze looking out... More

We've been going there for 20 years and it is the first port of call when we visit Salema, overlooking the beach. Never had a bad meal there and the staff are so friendly and welcoming year after year, especially George and Rui. The seafood is excellent and the pork steaks were divine. Chicken Piti Piti never disappoints and if... More

The Boia is s fantastic restaurant with the most incredible sea views. The fish here is delicious and I would definitely recommend it. The staff are very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to ensure a pleasant meal.

Very poor welcome. Shown to a table and left unattended for 10 minutes. Owner seemed more concerned about having a laugh with his friends rather than take our order. Left without being served. No idea if the food was any good. Algarve at its worst. Who in their right mind let's customers just walk out by just ignoring them??

A couple of visits during our holiday to this restaurant where location right on the beach is king. More importantly, the food on both visits was excellent - fish & grilled meats. Service was excellent & entertaining as the diners had clearly made numerous visits during their stay in Salema.

Fab location, hence the three stars, but the waitress was offhand, bordering on unfriendly, she answered all our questions with "Look at the menu". Food decidedly average, especially at the price. With so many wonderful restaurants to choose from we won't be visiting again.

We called in here on our way back from Cape St Vincent as I had stayed in Salema many years ago. What a delightful place it is - a lovely beach, free parking and fresh fish for lunch. We all had grilled sardines with salad and potatoes - delicious. After lunch we enjoyed a walk and paddle on the lovely... More
