One of the best French restaurants I know.

This is now our 5th year in the Valaurie/Grignan area. Living in Asia, Le Poeme is a real journey. From the city of Grignan which is a jewel, to the restaurant's dining area which is small and all so welcoming and authentic. Like the owners Herve and Valeir. Le Poeme is an excellent restaurant. It... read more

We had been to Le Poeme in 2001 or 2002 and were happy to find it still exists, even though it has relocated to a new address in the old part of Grignan. The dishes remain as good as we remembered them. We ordered the menu at Euro 45, and it is very good value for money indeed. My wife's... More

We have been to this restaurant before, and now, several years later, it was as good as we remembered. It is quite small and has a friendly cosy atmosphere. We chose the 3-course menu for €32. It was delicious! At the end of the night the chef himself came to our table to ask if we had enjoyed our meal.

A wonderfully quaint, old fashioned little restaurant in the souterrain, with traditional French cuisine and great wines from the region, that's what we found in Le Poème. And that's why we had two dinners there in the week we spent in Grignan. The first time we had the big Menu Promenade Gourmande. Pure delight, from the beginning to the end.... More

Husbond and wife run this very fine restaurant. We have been there many times, and everytime they have served tasty dishes with a lot of flavours. You can choose between 2 menus and they have a fine little winelist inclusive some of the best local producers.

I have put very good as the food was well cooked with good ingredients and served in a nice manner when it came! However we waited a very long time between courses, 40 minutes for the main course which slightly spoilt a birthday celebration. The restaurant was not full and I am not sure why it took so long.

We had lunch here today after visiting the chateau and it was a wonderful respite. The restaurant was lovely, small and quaint and only seating about twenty five diners. The service was gracious and attentive yet not pretentious. The food was fabulous. Everything was carefully prepared with fresh ingredients and every dish we had, from the amuse-bouche to the dessert... More

In general , in touristic places in france , either you find excellent restaurants ( which is rare ) or in normal restaurants usually you eat boring food in very basic environments . Here it is different. It is the france of the past. The restaurant is authentically provincial . Very nicely set table , excellent service , rich wine... More

Truffles are a delicate business - it is not only the quality and freshness of the tuber but also in-depth knowledge and experience to make them 'shine' in a dish. It requires discipline and a sophisticated approach to preparation. And the chef at le Poeme shines in all aspects. Furthermore, the importance of the choice of accompanying wine(s) cannot be...
