Quelle surprise

Saturday night. Impossible to park in Arles, so we tried another town nearby - Tarascon. Drove through, not particularly impressed, but parked outside a down-beat bar to have a walk around. Saw an interesting gate with a paved street the other side, and a large building a way along, so we... read more

We did go and visit after reading the recommendations. I only can say, very poor and bad. We have been 3 People; we did eat 2 salads ( anchovis, and smoked duck) . The 2 times salmon and i had Steak , which i did order medium. The salad for 7 € consisted out of 6 leaves of green salad,... More

Lovely setting for tables on theatre steps, pokey old style cafe for inside tables, so don't go if it's raining. Food good, price reasonable for food and drink. Charming young staff.

Loved sitting outside on the theatre steps. I think there is a new menu every evening that they are open. Whatever is in season and from their farm

Ok. Context first! After our art workshop in Provence, a short visit to Tarascon with our group to exhibit our paintings. Not only are we art instructors, but also excellent cooks, since we wrote a book on our workshop cuisine. Therefore, this rating will be more than accurate. Tarascon doesn’t have many good restaurants, since it is off the beaten... More

My wife and I ate at Le Theatre while staying at Le Mas D'Arvieux on the recommendation of Alex and Carolyn, the owners of that B&B. We were looking for a local, authentic restaurant and they couldn't have pointed us to anything better. The restaurant itself is what we'd call in Canada a "hole in the wall" and didn't look... So much more the just a great dining experience .. starting with the patrons inthusiastic presentation of the menu and the selective choice of only organic local ingredients .. the starters where an exiting mixture pf flavors and well presented dishes that looked like art and tasted like a piece of heaven .. the rest of the meal was great... I recently went to the Restaurant Le Theatre with my mother while on holiday. It's a tiny restaurant just opposite the old theatre in Tarascon. The food was delicious and well prepared-home cooking style. All the food is organic and comes from only a 20 mile radius, the owner seems really passionate about this! I ordered lamb which was really... More

If you are interested in good food that is also a healthy food, or - God forbids - you are a veterinarian, your choices in Provence are quite limited. That is why I was surprised to see such a good restaurant in Tarascon. The food is only local, and includes also meat and fish. Not too spicy, you can feel... More

The owner is passionate about the quality and provenance of her food, and it shows in the cooking. Everything is well cooked, local as far as possible, and reasonably priced - it was just a shame that we, and later another two, were the only diners. Setting is lovely, opposite the old theatre.
