Need I say more? We had the Root beer float. It was soft serve ice cream, which isn't my favorite, but the root beer was good and there were free refills.

Other than the name and a few pictures, restaurant could be in any small town in America. My country-fried steak was good, but not spectacular. Would probably try another option the next time I visit.

For sure the most bland and tasteless food in Hannibal. The next best thing to dog food. And worst then ever now that the daughter and son have taken over the business. The only positive here if you could find one would be the location. But if you like good food a trip anywhere else in town would be worth... More

My wife and I spent a couple days in Hannibal seeing the sites and was referred to this diner by a local. Had the mark twain chicken and although my wife thought it was good, I thought that it could have used more seasoning, pretty bland. Also tried the mac and cheese, who could mess that up right? They managed... More

Stopped just before noon. Seated quickly. I ordered the Mark Twain Chicken. Server told me it would take 25-30 minutes. That was fine. I ordered a breast and leg, with mashed potatoes and green beans. My food was served in about 30 minutes and the chicken was piping hot and worth the wait. The potatoes were fine. The green beans... We were referred to the diner by a friend. The service was great as well as the food. My Grandsons enjoyed the homemade root beer. We returned later in the day for some ice cream and to purchase 1 gallon of their rootbeer to take home. I recommend this restaurant

We chose the Mark Twain Fried Chicken...and it was delicious...as was the Mississippi Mud Pie...YUM!! We split the meal and dessert and were quite full. The waitress was super, quick with a come back quip...which made us feel right at home.

I have been a life long resident of Hannibal and have eaten here many times. My mother also grew up here and this was one her and her friends favorite places to eat as teenagers. The maid rites and root beer, which they are famous for used to be delicious, however, I recently took a friend of mine who was... More

My husband and I have been here 3 times and have enjoyed our meals every time. Once it was with a group and every one of them said their meal was good. I had a french dip that was one of the better I've ever had. The last time we were there was for breakfast and again, we were not... More
