This is an average diner. I want it so bad to be fabulous but every time we go it disappoints in some way. The fish was greasy and the salads small and sort of expensive. We went for lunch and the baked potatoes were hard (not close to being done). I wouldn't have minded ordering something else and... read more

Food came pretty quickly and the waiter was really nice. The place was bustling. It seemed to be a local hangout. Good, home-cooked meal.

We had a great experience. Maidrite and root beer is the way to go. Great service! We will definitely be going back.

service was slow, orders taken after ours arrived first. Eggs were lukewarm. We were there during car show week-end. Easly took 25 minutes for our food to arrive.

Its a diner, that's what it is. The food is good, prices are good, service is good. And they make their own root beer, which is very good. I get to Hannibal 5 or 6 times a year and I always stop here. And I always order the root beer!

We needed to find someplace where we could eat a simple and late dinner on a Sunday night and the Mark Twain dinette filled the bill. We actually arrived just before they closed and the people working there were so nice and welcomed us right in. We had soup and crackers and it was so good - very homemade and... More

Fast, friendly service. My burger was tasty and the root beer was great and you get free refills. Just got there at 11:00, so breakfast service was not available and the ice cream machine was not started so I was not able to get root beer float without waiting.

Yum we spent less than Mcdonald's for a family of 4. Way better food too. Homemade root beer. Its old but good. Friendly. We had maid rites, burger, & tenderloin. We don't like to hit chains while we travel so. ...this is where we ended up while traveling through.

Simple mid western breakfast there. Nothing from scratch. Popular with the local community. Only could eat half due to lack of homemade taste.

It's a Hannibal tradition to get their root beer floats & onion-ring towers! Both very good. It struggled for a few years, but seems to be coming back to new life under new ownership/management. Staff has always been friendly, it's generally always busy (which says something in itself) & has been updated (the bathrooms, however, are tiny & outdated). I... More
