We had breakfast and it was really good. The waitress was a hoot. Fun place to eat. I had never heard of monkey gravy. Leran something new.

A long while ago this was a great place to enjoy a common meal.....not so anymore. I have gone twice to see how things are and was greatly disappointed both times...Food was poorly prepared and portion was very very small.

First the positives. It's pretty cute from the outside. Evolks nostalgia. Thats it. The place was dirty. Got a dirty glass and dirty silverware. We had breakfast. On two plates not one food item was good and most were inedible. The best thing on either plate was my toast.

Labor day visit to area and there was only one open restaurant. We didn't have much choice. The waitress and other staff were friendly and bantered with the regulars. We had breakfast. The bacon was simultaneously burned and 'raw.' The pancakes were fluffy and crispy. The omelet had velveeta (or similar) cheese. Can't say any of us were impressed, unfortunately..

After a long weekend at the "Elms" we stopped here for breakfast on our way out of town. It is a "mom and pop diner" with excellent food. It was busy and service was slow but we were in no hurry. Lots of locals along with tourist. We both had Omlette's and they were excellent. Loved the crispy hash browns.... More

The place is DIRTY, food is blah. Drinks such as tea are terrible. Tea tasted very old. Mostly burgers and chicken. Blah, blah and blah.

The food was okay nothing great. The service was horrible. Our waitress just left half way through the meal and never showed back up. We had to hunt for refills and our check. The place is dirty as well.

We like the little diners in small towns, and this one is excellent. Breakfast is served all day, and I ate an omelet at 2 p.m. for lunch, thinking that I wouldn't eat it all. Wrong! Partner had a pork tenderloin sandwich that he said was very good, too. You won't go wrong here.

We happened to be in Excelsior Springs and stopped to try Mill Inn Restaurant. It's an older building with character. We ordered bacon and eggs with a side of bisquits and gravy The bacon was pre-cooked but everything else was cooked at the time of our order. The kitchen is located by the counter so you can see everything. The... More

Family style home cooking. Down home atmosphere. Staff is always friendly and the food is good at a family friendly price. With in walking distance to the Elms.
