We wanted to grab a quick meal while on the road and decided to give this a try. We both had the Sandwich Special, which was a sandwich and two sides. The brisket was excellent, as were the beans and potato salad. The price was very reasonable and the service was excellent! I highly recommend it! Also, it right off... More

We had pick a different place to eat, but way to smoking from cigarettes. Didn't feel we could eat there. Pick a different location asked the people coming out how it was. Decided not to go there. Our next choice was here, and we were happy all the others one did not work out for us. Service was great. Food... More

I'm a little nostalgic about this restaurant from my college years, but you have to hand it to Buckingham for not letting its standards slip over time. I highly recommend the brisket and the baked beans. The pulled pork is also good with the spicy bbq sauce on it. For those who are not voraciously hungry, the Pit Salad is... More

There is a sign hanging in this restaurant identifying it as the best place in Columbia to eat BBQ for a number of consecutive years. WE COULDN'T DISAGREE MORE! We had the worst barbeque we have EVER experienced---it was old beef and sliced extremely thin so you might miss the toughness. It was served with a sauce that was not... More

Buckingham's is a frequent quick stop for lunch. This time I ordered 10 pounds of meat and sides for a party. The brisket and turkey were hot, right out of the oven. The meat was moist and had a nice smokey flavor. The beans were very special. The potato salad was okay, but not special. I placed my order a... More

Very neat and clean spot. Not too overwhelmed by the simple menu. Burnt ends, all chopped and combined were not exactly what I was expecting, but plenty of meat… Spicy sauce is really hot, the mild is delicious. I gotta come back for the beans and the horseradish cole slaw. Turkey and ham sandwiches looked great. Friendly staff!

The food is very good and at good prices. The pecan pie is absolutely wonderful. We have eaten at Hu-Hot next door, then gone here for the pie.

The brisket was dang near inedible, and the hot links were over cooked, almost microwave like. The only good thing was the baked beans and the service, otherwise, I will never come back here for BBQ again, I'd rather cook a hamburger at home.

We really enjoyed our lunch here. The Sloppy Bucks sandwich (like a Sloppy Joe) was packed with meat. Two of us had pulled pork sandwiches and they were excellent. The fries are as good or better than any place in town and were served nice and hot. The cole slaw was good, but not for everybody. The baked beans were... More
