Incredible cocktails and market-driven dining

Sycamore may feel low-key, but their market-driven menu and craft cocktail experience can not be duplicated in Columbia. Subtle attention to details and the dining experience keeps this gem at the top of my must go-to places. Always ask what cocktail special the bartender has prepared. It will not disappoint!

Pretty good food, but service left something to be desired only because they didn't bring my daughter's lunch out with the rest of ours. Some (but not all) of us were trying to be polite by not starting until they brought hers out. It look so long my salad was getting warm! I let the waiter know too. Not much... More

This place was worth the visit. The food is very good. The menu is diverse. The selection of craft beers was fun. Nice service too!

Our server was pleasant and available but not intrusive. His wine suggestion was excellent. My steak was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The desert, again recommended by the server, was excellent.

call ahead and reserve the short ribs, totally worth it and soooo good! wait staff is hit or miss, they try, but if it's even a bit full it can be tough to find the staff. wine list is small but sufficient with a few gems. owner/chef/cook is very picky about quality and we like that. will always go back

I can say with 100% certainty, that the world's best dessert chef works at the restaurant! Cheesecake with blueberries, some sort of tart in a class! To die for. The service was good, the wine very good, and the food delicious too!

Sycamore is our go-to lunch spot AND our nice dinner spot. They have very reasonably-priced LOCAL foods for both meals -with an atmosphere that makes us feel both welcomed and special.

Outstanding food. Best fried oysters outside of New Orleans. Short ribs were just the thing for a cold night. Try the Carmenere wine. I make it a point to eat here every time I'm in town.

I met a business associate for dinner during the week and had a very good meal. I had the duck and my companion the filet. Both cooked perfectly. The special salad was indeed special. The atmosphere was reasonably quiet even though the place was busy. Only complaint--they ran out of any Chardonnay by the glass and would not open another... More

There are so many interesting menus choices that one can be guaranteed a different experience every time. The small plates make it possible to share a variety of yummy items. There are not many restaurants in Columbia that have duck confit, smoked trout bellies, and pork belly sliders all on the same menu. Can be tricky to find parking on... More
