The food is not incredible but it is consistently good. Service has always been friendly. One of the owners is always there. Great Columbia tradition that everyone should visit.

The beauty of this place is that they've learned to adapt. They are a college bar when they need to be and a great restaurant when they decide to be. You can see evidence of the college bar scene when you go there for brunch on a Sunday. It's hard for them to hide it. But here are some facts/evidence... More

This bar is practically on the MU campus. It is a no-frills, semi-clean, college bar, and does pretty well at that part. It also tries to be a restaurant, and doesn't do quite so well at that. The deep-fryer and microwave are evident in the food, with last week's oil noted in the former. Come here to drink, watch the... More

This was one of my old college hangouts. After returning to campus many years later of course I wanted to see what had changed. Of course, the building is bigger after the fire, but still has the same wonderful atmosphere. The food was much the same. Of course, the prices have changed — when I was in college and dinosaurs... Our waitress was right on top of it. She checked back to make sure everything was fine. Food was good and so was the service. Prices are very reasonable. I had a steak which was delicious.

We stopped in for lunch. There were about 10 of us and considering the business of the place the service was fine. The staff wasn't particularly friendly but not hostel. The food was really really good. The German Plate and the Ruben Sandwich are my recommendations. The kids meals were good too. I wouldn't necessarily recommend the burger. Nothing special.... More

This was the de facto bar during my college days. Tonnes of memories. Awesome happy hour specials & great food. Nothing like having drinks with a good plate of spicy chicken wings. Gets noisy & busy like all good bars do but that is what makes them great & charming. Not to be missed when in Columbia.

When in Columbia on Sunday morning this is our go to with friends for brunch. Made to order omlets brought to your table. Waffles, pancakes, fried chicken wings, green beans, corn, bisquits, gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, ham, sausage, fruit, & assorted pastries. I probably left some out. More food than you can eat. Replenished quickly so always fresh. Very reasonibly... More

I was told to go here by a friend who went to school at Mizzou. The beer selection was nothing to rave about, but they did mainly have craft brews on tap. I ended up having appetizers as they were BOGO.

Brought my hubby into town for a tour of my old stomping ground. So, naturally, a trip to "the Ol' Heidelberg" was in order. We always used to come for the Long Island Teas. They are not as good as I remember, but the food is satisfying. And the atmosphere is pretty much as I remember it. All in all,... More
