I took a guest to this restaurant because the hotel where I was staying recommended it for a “nice” upscale place. However I was very disappointed. I had pasta and meatballs which they proceeded to cook to within an inch of its life. An Italian restaurant overcooking the pasta is just a sin in my opinion. I shouldn’t have to... More

Was invited to Sunday Brunch and our group of 5 plus an 18 mo old was very pleased with the service and quality of the fare. Our waitress was most accommodating as we were able to order a dinner item, and a kid's meal along with our brunch items. All were excellent, including the kid's chicken nuggets (I snuck a... More

With only one night in during my semi-annual visit to Columbia, Sophia's wasn't my first choice. Or second. Or third. Okay, it was not even on the list. But it wasn't my choice. However, my interest was piqued when I learned Sophia's is a sister restaurant to Addison's - one of my new favorite Columbia dining spots. And Sophia's didn't... More

We have been coming to Sophia's for 10+ years and while it has changed somewhat and the portions of decreased in size, we still enjoy the atmosphere on a Friday night (loud) or the family vibe for Sunday brunch. While the seafood can be quite good, it is by far the most unpredictable. The beef fillet and Patchwork Farm's pork... More

Used to be one of my favorites, in Columbia, but due to recently diagnosed food allergies, in tolerances, and food sensitivities there's very little on their menu for someone who has celiac disease or lactose intolerance to eat. For example they offer and excellent ginger brined pork chop, however, They pair that dish with a creamy polenta, which is gluten... More

This is a wonderful restaurant. It is not to large, just the right size. It has an old world charm with a happy vibe. We always enjoy the whole experience when we go. Our child even likes to go there. She enjoys the selection on the child's menu. The Brandy Cream Filet with Rosemary Potatoes is my favorite. Every time... More

A great place for a date (or a day out with your spouse). It is a fancy restaurant, the seating area and service is sophisticated (and all without ruining your budget for the week). I tried the couscus and shrimp appetizer which was so rich in taste, the blend of spices the chef used was exquisite and masterful. I will... More

I have never been disappointed and I wasn't tonight. I ordered pasta buonosera with an order of baked meatballs to start. Best meatballs I have ever had in my life. My friend and I could have eaten nothing but the meatballs and been perfectly happy. The pasta buonosera is a plate full of cheese tortellini with pine nuts, spinach, and... More

We had a fantastic meal experience at Sophia's. They have several good wine choices to accompany your meal. We were there with another couple and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. I had a fabulous salmon, my husband a chicken dish that was fantastic. We met the owner and he was kind enough to give us a free dessert... More

Food is fantastic here. Atmosphere great. Being a foodie from NYC, this place in central Missouri did not disappoint. Get ehe small plates and share. Pretty good wine list also.
