Very enjoyable restaurant

The atmosphere is California casual. Patio area in summertime. Food is excellent! Recommend horseradish encrusted Salmon and Brandy crime filet! For u spirit fans finish evening with chocolate martini. Restaurant prices are above average for Columbia

Sophia's used to be our favorite "special" place in Columbia. However, after last night's dinner, we will be looking for a new spot. We had the baked mushrooms for an appetizer--there was SO much cheese (swimming), that we couldn't really find or taste the mushrooms. We then had the special (2 pork tenderloin medallions with mashed potatoes and asparagus). We... More

I usually love Sophia's. Many previous trips have made it a staple. Great food, atmosphere, usually good service. Yesterday I went during Brunch, which is usually delightful. Our server was less than enthusiastic, slow, and forgetful; although pleasant. We ordered coffee and a cocktail, monkey bread, smoked chicken empanadas, and house breakfast cassarole. The monkey bread, as the menu warns,... More

We were here after graduation two years in a row. Both times the food exceeded our expectations. Service was average. Doyle come again for a special occasion.

About one week ago I had one the most delightful meals in years at Sophia's. It was a "special". The smell and taste of sweet spices with the fresh meat of the trout, which was slightly cooked was just out of this world. However, I cannot exactly describe my dinner entree that evening at Sophia's one week ago because I... More

We had tried to go to C C 's for a celebratory dinner and their wait was 90 min at 5:30 on a Sat night. We 'settled' for Sophia's and was pleasantly surprised. The calamari was average. I prefer a lighter batter. The tenderloin tapas was excellent and the crab cakes were very good. The serving portion was good. The... More

There were many options of Italian food and tapas from the Spanish spectrum. Service was good, our dishes were great, and their famous dessert was unbelievable!

We visited Sophia's for a family dinner. One of us had the baked shrimp and angel hair pasta and became ill a couple hours after eating it. I had the three-mushroom penne - it was heavy, overcooked and unremarkable - and I didn't detect three mushrooms. My husband had the ravioli with three cheeses and reported that it was similarly... I have eaten at Sophia's several times, and the food is consistently good. We had a nice waitress. However, I spent $15 on an entree and ate about 1/3 of it. I asked for a "to go box." They pack the food for you. Upon return the waitress dropped my entree and it spilled out onto the floor. At no... More

I took a guest to this restaurant because the hotel where I was staying recommended it for a “nice” upscale place. However I was very disappointed. I had pasta and meatballs which they proceeded to cook to within an inch of its life. An Italian restaurant overcooking the pasta is just a sin in my opinion. I shouldn’t have to... More
