Intimate Oyster Venue

Shared oyster stew and raw oysters with friends. Enjoyed a nice bottle of wine to wash them down. Love that they use old vintage bone chia and your oyster stew is served in a gravy boat! Fun place. Good idea to make a reservation unless you want to try for a seat at the counter. Fun place to... read more

I have been here several times, always after a show, and I appreciate the late closing (11:00pm for the kitchen, the bar stays open later). It's a lovely place to sit and chill, on the pavement or by the big open window on DeMun, with Concordia park across the road; very peaceful and laid back. I've enjoyed the food until... More

I have never had a real meal here, but we love to come for oysters and a glass of wine. Wonderful fresh oysters from Washington State and British Columbia. The fries are also very good. It is a great place to visit in the summer and sit outside.

Small, somewhat eclectic, but fantastic restaurant in the 'upscale' Clayton area. Outstanding selection of oysters and a great 'specialty drink' menu complimented an excellent menu dominated by seafood entrees. I had the salmon and it was outstanding. Our group also had the seafood special and a seafood pasta and everyone was raving about their food. Menu prices are certainly above... More

While the restaurant was fairly quiet when I arrived, it has a surprisingly welcoming feel to it. The other guests seemed happy, which could only have been amplified by sitting on the patio on a marvelous day. The meal included a Caesar salad with fried oysters (or maybe they were clams), mussels swimming a butter sauce, which was only too... More

I don't like oysters, but that does not matter. The rest of the menu is great, especially the mussels and clams!

You walk in and automatically see a wall filled with antique looking mirrors. The windows open all the way up, making it feel like you are no longer in St. Louis but are transported down to New Orleans. The oysters were phenomenal!!! I would order them again in a heartbeat! I ordered the chicken and I must say it was... More

Just a short walk from work and I'm in one of my favorite dining areas. The DeMun Oyster is a large part of why I love the neighborhood. Though they don't seem to do much of a lunch business the food is always superb and the service top notch. Today was the oyster chowder with plenty of oysters and, maybe,... More

Had this place on my 'to do' list for awhile, & I wasn't disappointed. Very chic but small seafood bistro on the corner of Demun & Rosebury, just west of Forest Park. Lively late Saturday aftn bar scene, but the service was nonetheless attentive, knowledgeable, & punctual. I wasn't over-hungry, but did want an immersion in my favorite bivalve. I... More

My family and I found De Mun Oyster Bar on a reservation booking website and it was listed as a neighborhood gem. They fly their seafood in fresh daily and specialize in west coast oysters. The night we were there they were very understaffed and despite the fact that we had reservations, we still had to wait for a table.... More
