Dinner at Coastal

Came here on a friends recommendation because good seafood is hard to come by here in the Midwest. Started with the fish tacos which were super delicious. I had two drinks which were decent, sadly I can't remember their names. I had the jambalaya for the main course and it was just ok. Not spicy at... read more

Absolutely enjoyed my meal! Mix green salad was so flavorful and the salmon was prepared to perfection. Nice to have a restaurant that prepares food from scratch.

After saying we would try this place for the past year or so we finally had a girls night out at Coastal. We started things off with some Pom Pom cocktails (champagne and pomegranate liqueur) and fresh oysters on the half shell. That set the bar very high for the rest of the meal but we were not disappointed. Our... More

Very nice restaurant. White tablecloth, limited seating, perfect for a business dinner or date. Their seafood is what you would expect from a Midwest state - salmon, halibut, oysters, etc. Nothing on the menu from the gulf (Mahi, Snapper, Redfish). Excellent presentation and service.

Of the 91 restaurant reviews I've written only two received Terrible ratings. I can now make it three and the fault lies totally with the management. We had a decent dinner at Coastal last night but were in for a surprise when the check came. We are members of the Passport Dining Club (buy one entrée and the second one... More

Ok, so YOU are going to read the reviews as I did. I was originally uncertain about this place, but we totally enjoyed the food and service. First, by getting there during "Happy Hour" we got a a dozen big oysters that were really good quality for $12. Second the service WE got was very friendly and attentive. Third, the... More

Our group of four went for Clayton Restaurant Week. The others in my group shared mussels as an appetizer and they enjoyed them. I started with the lobster bisque. It was good. The entree I chose was lobster pot pie. It was delicious but we were told that is not a regular menu item. Maybe they'll reconsider after the rave... More

Nice menu for three-courses at $25. I had the goat cheese tart, grilled salmon, chocolate cake. My wife had the fresh oysters, lobster pot pie, and coconut bread pudding. Nice French wine to accompany. It was busy. The food and service excellent.

Coastal Bistro & Bar exceeded my expectations for fresh seafood. The Crab Boil was filling and fresh. We enjoy our bartender with recommendations on what specialty drink we might enjoy. Our service was great and we will definitely go back soon.

Eight of us for a celebration of sorts....Saturday night, 6 wonderful friends and ourselves. The manager started us off with champagne. It was excellent. Then appetizers...fried oysters, sampler platter, salmon tartare, goat cheese tart, lobster roll. Since we are all friends the plates went round and round the table. Hard to pick the best one; they were all delicious. Then... More
