Our group of four went for Clayton Restaurant Week. The others in my group shared mussels as an appetizer and they enjoyed them. I started with the lobster bisque. It was good. The entree I chose was lobster pot pie. It was delicious but we were told that is not a regular menu item. Maybe they'll... read more

Nice menu for three-courses at $25. I had the goat cheese tart, grilled salmon, chocolate cake. My wife had the fresh oysters, lobster pot pie, and coconut bread pudding. Nice French wine to accompany. It was busy. The food and service excellent.

Coastal Bistro & Bar exceeded my expectations for fresh seafood. The Crab Boil was filling and fresh. We enjoy our bartender with recommendations on what specialty drink we might enjoy. Our service was great and we will definitely go back soon.

Eight of us for a celebration of sorts....Saturday night, 6 wonderful friends and ourselves. The manager started us off with champagne. It was excellent. Then appetizers...fried oysters, sampler platter, salmon tartare, goat cheese tart, lobster roll. Since we are all friends the plates went round and round the table. Hard to pick the best one; they were all delicious. Then... More

I have been there 3 times in the last 3 weeks since serving jury duty. I have had excellent lobster rolls and soup. It is not easy to get an authentic lobster roll in St. Louis and it is truly a treat.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel staff as a 'seafood restaurant' nearby. The waitress did not seem to care to serve us. The crab cakes and fish tacos were overcooked. The kitchen closed at 10pm on Saturday. Our party felt rushed to leave. The waitress only came to the table to take our order, bring our food,... More

In a fun twist of fate, I had lunch at Coastal recently two days in a row. Both times our server was Joseph and he is fantastic! Fun, knowledgeable, and very attentive. The second day was my daughter's birthday and my son-in-law had gotten there ahead of us to put flowers on the table. They reserved the window spot for... More

We tried this restaurant several years ago and had not been back; felt it was time to give it another try. The service was good, not exceptional and the food was just okay. Not a horrible experience but we won't go back. There are too many good restaurants in town to repeat this one.

Enough cannot be said about this beautifully decorated property. One of the few female-owned/operated restaurants in St. Louis has a lovely atmosphere and delicious food. The biscuits served in paper bags with honey butter before each meal are scrumptious. The menu is heavy on sea-food, but I have yet to try a bad dish at this place. Excellent for lunch... More

Cute little restaurant in downtown Clayton. Happy hour was great on Friday night. Interesting and delicious cocktails for $5 until 6:30! We stayed for dinner and it was also wonderful. A bit on the expensive side (check out the menu online) if you come for happy hour and stay for dinner...and order the dessert:) We had a few of the... More
