Pretty view

We went for the view and it was quite nice. My husband had the special which was some sort of rolled beef in a brown sauce with spaetzle and he enjoyed it. My teenager enjoyed the cheese pizza. I had a grilled chicken salad that was average. A highlight was looking through the guest book that... read more

When we made our reservation, they told us it would be a 45 minute wait to cook our food - fine. But, it was one hour PLUS 45 minutes after we ordered before we got our food. Then they forgot a hamburger - that took longer. They said because it was crowded. There were only four other tables without food... More

The views, service, and family feeling make this place a great place to bring your family! Come and sit, enjoy the views of table rock lake right from the out door eating area of this restaurant. The servers all work hard to remember their guests, and meet the needs of all the resort guests in the area. The food is... More

I gave it a very "good rating" rating primarily for the spectacular view of Table Rock Lake. The food is actually pretty ordinary. I have to admit, I was suspicious of a German-sounding restaurant that also offers pizza. My husband ordered a sandwich and I ordered a German special and both were okay but nothing out of the ordinary. We... More

My family and I stopped in at the Altenhof in early July. We ordered some pizzas to go and sat on the deck while waiting for the pizzas to be ready. While waiting, we each had a beer from the German collection, and we enjoyed the view of Table Rock Lake. The wait staff was very attentive and most kind... More

Tried to go there. It says open til 9 we got there about 745 and were promptly seated. Then the waitress told us about the specials. Rouladen. Sounds great. Then she came back and told us that since they were closing in 15 minutes all they could offer is is pizza. It was the owners policy not to cook for... More

Our meals each cost $18 a PC and $12 for the Knackwirst. The spatzelle was bland and seemed to be cooked in a microwave, as were our frozen vegetables. The veal was tough as leather, fatty and rubbery. The breeding was terrible, not crisp one bit. My mushroom sauce was canned mushrooms in a horrible gravy. The Knackwurst, which was... More

Loved this little restaurant. Pizza was great (the cheese they use is awesome) and the German food was authentic...as it should be since Gertrude, the owner, made it herself and came by all the tables after she was done with the rush just to say thanks. The view is amazing. I guess I could say the wings weren't great- but... More

My husband and I had been planning to try this restaurant and finally found it! The view of Table Rock Lake is incredible but the food was just OK. We had looked at the menu online but, once there, the actual menu was very different. We sat on the patio, were served with paper plates and plasticware. The German meals... More

Best pizza ever and a view of table rock lake like none other. Wish I lived closed. Will make sure that I let ever one I talk to know that they need to find this hidden gem. Michelle was a great waitress and a lot of fun. Thanks for making it an even greater experience.
