Best part is definitely the view

My husband and I had been planning to try this restaurant and finally found it! The view of Table Rock Lake is incredible but the food was just OK. We had looked at the menu online but, once there, the actual menu was very different. We sat on the patio, were served with paper plates and... read more

Tried to go there. It says open til 9 we got there about 745 and were promptly seated. Then the waitress told us about the specials. Rouladen. Sounds great. Then she came back and told us that since they were closing in 15 minutes all they could offer is is pizza. It was the owners policy not to cook for... More

Our meals each cost $18 a PC and $12 for the Knackwirst. The spatzelle was bland and seemed to be cooked in a microwave, as were our frozen vegetables. The veal was tough as leather, fatty and rubbery. The breeding was terrible, not crisp one bit. My mushroom sauce was canned mushrooms in a horrible gravy. The Knackwurst, which was... More

Loved this little restaurant. Pizza was great (the cheese they use is awesome) and the German food was authentic...as it should be since Gertrude, the owner, made it herself and came by all the tables after she was done with the rush just to say thanks. The view is amazing. I guess I could say the wings weren't great- but... More

Best pizza ever and a view of table rock lake like none other. Wish I lived closed. Will make sure that I let ever one I talk to know that they need to find this hidden gem. Michelle was a great waitress and a lot of fun. Thanks for making it an even greater experience.

As having been chef trained at C.H.I.C., I ventured into many forms of European ethic cuisines. My ancestry is Polish, Austrian, Russian, and although I have cooked and visited restaurants of these cuisines often, I decided to ask my date to accompany me to the German restaurant, since I'm Austrian (like German) and he was full blooded German. I asked... More

I personally LOVE German food. But whether you do or you don't, this locally owned (why go on vacation and eat at chains?) unique eatery has great burgers, custom gourmet pizzas and should please just about everyone. The view is stunning, and the owner Gertraude is totally charming. And I'm sure it goes without saying that the whole place, top... More

My husband and I ate at Altenhof Inn for the first time on April 10, 2015. The view of Table Rock Lake was just amazing. We sat outside and marveled at how peaceful and beautiful it was. We had Bavarian hamburgers - a cheeseburger with sauerkraut - which were quite good. We enjoyed ourselves greatly and plan on eating there... More

When we drove up we were greeted with a great view and we had the restaurant to ourselves as we watched the sun set - which this is what we were hoping for upon the reviews of others and we were not disappointed! I have not eaten German food that often but I thought the sampler platter of a few... More

Great view, but food just ok and service seemed to take forever even thought they were not even crowded. When you are with kids and service is slow this can become a nightmare.
