A lovely experience.

Yesterday me and my family visited the whistling wren. This was our first visit the food took a little while longer than we expected but the waitress who brought us our meal (can't remember her name but she had a strong scouse accent and purple hair) and was very apologetic. She took the time to... read more

Service was appalling. Firstly, the waitress (Joanna) was rude! She had no manners or customer service! The food took over an hour and half to come, and when it arrived, it was awful! The steak was over cooked and tough as old boots (£15.00 - could buy two fantastic pieces from M&S for that). We got told we couldn't order... More

Despite the reviews on here we decided to try it out and see how the restaurant really was. We walked into the place and kinda of presumed we had to be waited to be seated but after 3 waitresses walking past us giving us dirt looks we soon realised we had to find our own table which we did! Went... More

Visited mid week lunchtime, so should be at its best. However, the meal took an age to arrive but that can be a good sign. On arrival the plates were cool and the food was too. I had the chefs special chicken and spare ribs, the chicken was piping hot yet the ribs were almost cold like the chips. One... More

Went here with 10 of my friends for a late birthday celebration - somewhere our group always chooses. Staff were friendly & efficient despite it being a busy Friday lunchtime. Food was delicious, I had the beer battered fish & chips - fish tasted fresh and the batter was light and crispy. Most of us ordered desserts & one had... More

Thought it would be a nice weekend treat in here but it was horrendous. The staff are HORRIBLE and left us for half an hour waiting for drinks. Food was late and the steak wasn't cooked right it was far too rare it was disgusting. The rest of the meal was soggy like it has been thrown together and definitely... More

Went for Sunday lunch, food was poor and service worse. After we had finished my daughter had a play in the indoor play area and was subsequently accused of using the facilities without buying anything, after I explained we'd just finished our meals no apology was ventured. Overall an unpleasant experience. Wouldn't go again if you paid me.

Went here with the family for a birthday meal and for three days after we were all ill. Rang to speak to the manager after speaking to one of the girls and she put the phone down on me first time. Tried ringing back and my calls were cut off. While we were there the food wasn't warm, it wasn't... More

After 6 of us visited and spent £150.46 I might add, even though it was a bogof on the food, my party were Ill for 3 days I contacted them to complain and I have just been ignored by the manager and also head office. The poor service starts at the top in my view and feeds down to the... More

Was in during the week and will not be there again. The front staff aren't very pleasant but the food is ok. We had 5 meals, waited about an hour for them but actually it was ok considering the price. We waited to be seated but just ended up getting our own table we then waited a further 25 minutes...
