Somewhere nice to take the wife

There were six of us here for Mothers day and I couldn't resist a pint of hand pulled beer at the bar whilst waiting for the others to arrive. It was very tempting to have another one but I overcame the pang as I was driving. The selection of Sunday roasts was very much complimented by the... read more

We used to like going here a lot, but haven't been for a while, until last week when decided to go for a birthday treat meal, and I've got to say we were very disappointed service was terrible and not much to choose from the menu, only one steak on the menu yet on their web page had numerous items. It... More

Had a very nice meal where we had Linc sausage and lion of lamb which went down very well. The pudding, including well presented cheese & biscuis, were also very nice. It's a pity there aren't any areas to sit and have a beer i.e. All seating is centred around food. Overall, I would visit again and I know family... More

I didn't leave a tip because I was being billed for a drink I did not have. A weak apology from a weak front of house/bar person. The evening was a birthday treat that was spoiled by this incident. Further improvements could be sofas by the fire whilst waiting for a table/friends to arrive, better quality paper napkins and training... More

Had been searching for somewhere to eat when we came across this delightful pub, hiding behind the Church in Stow. Lovely menu, with some excellent vegetarian options. My companion was very pleased with her roasted Mediterranean vegetable terrine, and I had an immense portion of steak and mushroom pie which was delicious and full of steak. A lovely meal and... Booked Sunday lunch for five of us to celebrate my wife's birthday. We enjoyed an excellent three course meal. I enjoyed a soup starter - really excellent, while the others went for their specialty soufflé which they much enjoyed. My roast beef main course was first class and my companions gave similar reports for their choices. My Eton mess dessert... More

Just called in on spec with my wife and my mother. Good wholesome food, and drinks service with a smile. Recommend if you're near Lincoln and want some where convivial to eat with good parking.

This pub is my new local but I will never eat here again. The service was fine by all staff however me and my partner went to have a nice meal and didn't mind paying more than the average pub for food if it was decent quality. My partner ordered some chicken dish when it came out the chicken breast... More

We have as a family, regularly visit for a bar meal as the menu covers all rooms the same. Staff are lovely and the food is good and it's 10 minutes from home. But I do believe Richard and Helen have gone beyond what prices should be. The so called famous pie is very costly, the steaks are costly and... More
