this is some of the best bar b que in Kansas city. We like to take friends and family there when they come to town.
We eat a lot of BBQ and I think that the best is Zarda..Their beans are awesome also..try em' Everything is prepared in house and fresh when you order...
My sandwich was called "Average Joe" and OMG was it delicious! The beef was seriously melt in your mouth delectable. All the additional flavors on it were too. It rates a 10+. It is OMG good.
Have eaten there 3 times now. Always just so-so. Maybe I have ordered the wrong thing. Had one sandwich and the bun was actually cold. Yuk. I thought the KC area was supposed to have fantastic BBQ. Have not found it yet. Atmosphere average. Service OK. Just plain, plain, plain food.
Stop in for late lunch @ Zarda's and ordered the #2 large pork sandwich. Meat had favor, but was over cooked. Needed to add some of their BBQ sauce. Bake beans were the best I had in some time. Full of favorl, meaty with some bite to them. Service was rather slow. Counter help afterward to great for providing drink... More
Next to Fiorella's, Zarda probably serves the best baked beans in town. Meats are thinly sliced and perfectly cooked, however the sauce is a bit sweet for my taste. Menu is pricey and there is little sense of "atmosphere" but the food is consistent.
I had the burnt end sandwich and it was pretty good, counter service was easy and efficient, counter help was friendly and helpful,I really liked the French fries, big and crispy, over all I thought the sandwich was ok, I've had better and I've had worse
It was only after I moved away that I appreciated the good and diverse barbecue of Kansas City. Zarda has always been a favorite. Burnt ends were the reason for my trip but I had forgotten how tasty those beans are. yum!
Our first visit, so a bit confused. Helpful order taker suggested a "rib snack". We each got one with a potato salad side for me and sweet potato fries for DW. We were given a 10% senior discount. The rib snack was just right size and very good; the sweet potato fries were great and more than enough for two.... More
For a barbecue place this close to Kansas City it was a little disappointing. The meat was moist and tasty and the beans were good, but there was only one BBQ sauce. And for a sandwich with one side I thought it was a little pricey.
