We now go here nearly exclusively when we want good Mexican. It is authentic, so may not be what you are expecting. We played it safe the first time with taco and enchilada platters. But, then tried the pollo con crema. My husband and I both loved it. The pollo marinado ala parillo is great also. Now, we don't want... More

Our second trip to Kansas City and our second visit to Real Jalisco. We all got something different this time and enjoyed it as much as the first time. The margaritas with Grand Marnier are fabulous!!! The guacamole has lots of lime and cilantro and was delicious! A great little joint for sure and right off of I-70 making it... More

We dine a Real Jalisco when we want really good mexican food. So many mexican restaurants in the metro area are nothing more than burritos covered with cheese whiz!. Real Jalisco has a broad menu. Every visit I try something new and have never been disapointed

Very flavorful Mexican food. Not the fast food flavors Americans are used to. Nice restaurant and very good service.

For under $15, a credible steak is difficult to find these days. But, Real Jalisco delivers a very flavorful, creative, reasonably sized one (pounded thin - this is by no means the monster Americano 16 oz. version) - The Mariposa Jalisco. It's topped with Oaxaca cheese, peppers, onions, and nice tomatillo sauce. There appear to be some other "off the... More

The food was good but tasted a little different. I think they go for a more authentic flavor vs the americanized Mexican food we are used to. Nothing was very spicy but I think they want it that way so you can taste the food. No draft beer, only bottles. I found it a little pricey as Mexican restaurants go.... More

A friend had seen Real Jalisco on "Check Please" and made the suggestion. As luck would have it, we found a Groupon, so we thought it would be a great way to try. We arrived late afternoon/early evening and there were only a few diners, so we thought the service would be great and the food nice and fresh. Our... More

Restaurant was too warm. Margaritas were below average and a bit too tart. Chips and salsa were ok but have had much better. Wife got the vegetable fajitas that she could not eat as they were heavily seasoned and had a very unusual flavor that tasted similar to curry powder. Wondering if the kitchen made a mistake. My taco and... More

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback - I am sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with us. I am unsure about the curry taste of the fajitas ... hopefully not a common problem in our kitchen. We are authentic Mexican food and try to give our diners the best experience possible but it... We asked our waiter about a good chicken item, he recommended two options. We decided to go with both and we're impressed. The chicken is thin and tender. It had a great taste. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The chips and salsa unfortunately were ordinary. The salsa was chunky, but not much flavor.
