Had. A decent meal here, chicken, chorizo and leek pie was tasty and well seasoned but needed more chorizo. The salmon was also well cooked and clearly made fresh to order. Friendly staff and dog friendly in the back room.

Been up to the Grouse Inn tonight on our way back from the north. I had pork stuffed with blackpudding with the most delicious mushroom sauce ever! My husband opted for the fish and chips which was again very good. A great house white topped off and a local folk band playing finish off an excellent evening. Staff were friendly... More

I've been here hundreds of times and the food is always excellent .There's always a good selection of meals that are suitable for all ranges . Best cod and steak pie I've ever had at a really good price. I like that there are large and small sizes of meals so you can order what best suits your stomach. I... More

I've been here so many times and the food is always consistently good. There's only a small selection of meals but they are always good. Best steak pie I've ever had and recently had a Sunday lunch which was good too. I really like the fact that there are small and large portions of some (or all?) of the meals... More

A small group from our parish met here for our November monthly lunch. The atmosphere was good with several other parties/couples also eating. The service was bright and speedy, and the food , being hot, plentiful & wholesome, was well received by all our party. The beer was good too! Altogether an enjoyable "do" and well recommended.

We went here after a walk. The pub is welcoming and friendly, and serves beers from Marstons/Banks's, in excellent condition. The menu provides a good choice of food. I had Sea Bass, which was excellent, although rather pretentiously served. It consisted of eight thick cut chips laid in a criss-cross fashion, with two pieces of fish on top. The meal... More

This pub was really busy on Thursday evening despite being far from civilisation. We have drunk there while walking in all seasons and it is always well patronised. Friendly with old fashioned decor and acceptable but not spectacular food.Value for money and good beer.

On a blisteringly hot day and after a five mile walk through Padley Gorge, The Millstone Edge and Longshaw Estate, The Grouse was a welcome sight. Four Marston's ales in very good form and a large and varied selection of food dishes to choose from. Service is friendly and efficient. Blessed with its high position under White Edge, the large... Went for Sunday lunch and I ordered a vegetarian meal which came as a meat dish so I went and explained that I didn't order this and one of the female staff called PETA was very rude, and unhelpful and was told I couldn't change it unless I paid again, total lack of customer service and with an attitude like...
