Hubby and I went here tonight to warm ourselves with a pre-dinner coffee after a brisk Fall walk around MSU's campus. What a delightful find in Starkville! The old converted building itself is simply bursting with character from the light fixtures to the old brick walls to the weathered half sheet pans that cover the back walls. The two baristas... Trendy downtown coffee bar. Right across from the county courthouse. High end coffee without high end prices. they offer an assortment of the usual baked goods and quishes as well as a few specialty beers. I was there for morning coffee with a bit of time to kill.

The signage is a problem, because their website didn't mention "Tokros" and I only noticed the 929 coffee sign (which is much smaller and located beneath it) after I was given directions from an employee at Reed's that specifically mentioned the large Tokros sign above the location (it was a busy area). I liked the open air aspects. It felt... More

I'm really impressed by this place. In a town where chik fil-a even makes it into tripadvisor, I didn't expect to find this high calibre of coffee, craftsmanship, and service. Staff is so friendly and knowledgable about their product. No sugary excuses for a coffee drink (well there's syrup if ya you want), just good, quality coffee.

I have visited Nine-twentynine multiple times as an undergraduate student, and I still return when I am in Starkville. The design and atmosphere of the building is like no other- when the weather is nice, the workers open up the front (a garage-door like wall). There is plenty of seating available outside, as well as two floors to accommodate dine-in... More

I was blown away by how different 929 serves its coffee compared to most every other coffeeshop around Mississippi. Starkville is one of the most progressive towns in Mississippi and it was a matter of time before a truly amazing coffeeshop, like those found in larger cities with better specialty coffee markets, popped up. 929 gets their coffee freshly roasted... Nine-twentynine has to be the coolest place in Starkville right now. I've visited 7-8 times now and have had great service from the team behind the counter every visit. The coffee is extremely good and definitely better than the other coffee shop in town. I can't think of any real negatives for the place. The only thing I would say... More

I've been to coffee shops all over the country and always wished a really good one would open in Starkville some day. Well, what opened is actually way better than anything I've experienced in big cities. The people are always happy and helpful, the coffee and pastries are the best in Starkville, and the atmosphere is the most comfortable non-home... More

First of all, the previous review is completely bogus. This coffee shop can make any of their coffees iced and they do offer different types of milk. The value is great and the coffee delicious! They also have some of the best pastries and other sweets! The apple fritter is a must! The atmosphere is also great! This place is... More
