We visited Shuckers on Sunday afternoon and had a great time. There were lots of people enjoying the band, food and drinks. The bartender knew how to mix any drink and served some cold beer. We sat inside but the nice covered outdoor area was full of people having a great time. We played a game of pool while listening... More

Depending on what you're looking for, Shuckers might appear a bit off putting. At times it looks more like a biker bar than a restaurant. And at times that description would fit. During the day Shuckers serves up some excellent food. Their cheeseburgers may be the best in Jackson. Don't even think about ordering the full size - go for... More

Stopped in here on my way through town and wasn't disappointed. It was early so the band hadn't started. However, I really just stopped for a beer and some oysters. The beer was cold and the mugs are truly frosty! I ordered the seafood platter. Sam the bartender politely informed me she would bring a to go box with it... More

The food at Shucker's is OK. However, if there is a good band playing, it is a fun place to go for dancing. The margaritas are very good also.

This restaurant turns into the late night spot for the Jackson area as the night gets late. Two bands were playing in different areas. A country bluesy band in one and a very good dance band named Snazz in the other. Beer was cheap but good luck in getting a waitress. I had to go to the bar over &... More

Fun all the time. Love this place. Late night dancing and wildness but subdued morning brunch. Check it out

OK, this is THE place for the 40-plus crowd in the Reservoir Area near Jackson. While you will also see plenty of younger folks, if you are no longer in college, this is the “happening” place. While not exactly “on the water” it is very close by. There is a great outdoor deck area. They almost always have some kind... More

Living on the Mississippi Coast I guess I know a thing or two about oyster bars and this was the most awful one I've ever been to!!! The oyster's were warm and gritty, YUCK!!! We paid a $5 cover to see 5 minutes of a band outside on the deck, then they were off and some band played inside. We... More

This is an honest bar where everybody knows your name, or should before the day is done since happy hour begins at 2PM. Friendly crowd, good service and interesting oyster combinations. We tried several plates; char grilled, steamed, and the Thomas (with Hollandaise & crabmeat). The Thomas was the best of the bunch. There ain’t no wine list, honey. Our... More
