My boyfriend and I went to eat at McEwens around 7:30 p.m. There was a nice crowd, but we were seated fairly quickly. We ordered the gnocchi for an appetizer. It was delicious! Creamy rich sauce with sautéed spinach, potatoes, and a slight taste of pecans. Doesn't sound all that appetizing but it was very tasty. For entrées I ordered... More

If you go to McEwens, do order the grilled salmon. I have NEVER eaten such a delicious dish in my life. I don't usually order fish but it had been hightly recommended - so I tried it. It was beautifully presented. the vegetables were delightful. The plate was not "overloaded" with food. My husband and I are looking forward to... More

If you arrive early on a weeknight you will enjoy the mostly good food and the modern, airy ambiance, but after eight or so on a weekend evening the giggling, screaming sorority girls in the bar area will make your experience not worth the high prices.

I had the opportunity to photograph several dishes for a local magazine and afterwards we tried them. We had the Crab Napolean, Salmon and Tuna. I wasn't going to try the Salmon because I have never like it before. But it sitting there beautifully paired with Capers, tomato spinach ragout and balsamic glaze, I couldn't not try it. It was... This restaurant just steps off the square is worth the drive to Oxford if you don't live there. Talented chef has a variety of dishes; something for everyone. Love the atmosphere. I have never had a bad meal here.

For some reason, there aren't many choices for Sunday brunch in Oxford, MS. McEwen's proved to be a great find. The sausage casserole is really good. They have a pretty cool Bloody Mary and Mimosa bar. If you want to be near the square on a Sunday morning, this is a great choice

In for Parent's Weekend and had dinner at McEwen's on the square. It's always delicious with great service. We had scallops with grits and the salmon. Cooked perfectly! Try their fried oyster appetizer....so tender and perfectly seasoned. Also, the wild mushroom salad is a nice choice....always look forward to our meals there.

This is my first choice for lunch or dinner with friends if eating on the Square. The atmosphere, food and service have all been quite good every time I go. One can actually visit with your table partners and not feel inundated with extraneous noise. It is also my first choice to take out of town company when they want... More
