Belly Up To The Bar (Sunday)

Great spot...sister restaurant to "Big Bad Breakfast". Walk in the door sit at the Oyster Bar or the Main Bar...food is wonderful. Bartender service needed help...a little slow getting drinks and food. Had to yell at them like I was in a bar to get water, order food, and pay check. Other than... read more

Had dinner with a crowd...and it was very enjoyable. Selections varied from a hamburger to lamb...and everyone said food was great. The service was good until at the end ...several people got their bill... but several didnt. Had to find server so we could pay and leave. Not a big deal...definitely would return.

Alex the head bartender does a great job; nicely made classics and some insightful creations. Nice to find craft cocktails in this area.

This is not your "meat and potatoes" kind of place. It has a very unusual menu, with small plates that are wonderful appetizers, to larger plates that are very unusual but always seasoned to perfection. They have an oyster bar with fresh oysters flown in from all over the country. For many people that frequent all of Oxford's restaurants, this... More

At a wine tasting in Oxford I asked for a suggestion for the best restaurant in the area. Snackbar was the immediate response and my friends were right. What a good find and certainly a reason to return to Oxford. While the food was excellent, the Margarita, made by Alex, the barkeep, was by far the best one we've ever... More

Appetizers, sides and their French Onion Soup make for a delightful meal. Their terrines and pates, which are on the small plate portion of the menu are tasty and creatively presented. The soup portion may have shrunk, but is still great. I had Country Style Pork Terrine, Fried Chicken Thighs, and a turnover for desert. My wife had the soup,... More

This was not out first meal at Snackbar but it was definitely one of best! Over the last 3 years coming to Oxford to see our boys we try to eat here 1 night of each trip. We love this restaurant for a lot of reasons; consistently good food, nice people, etc. but as we all take on the new... More

The only raw bar in Oxford. Great oyster choices. Diverse menu. Fabulous chef. Gulf shrimp dishes, steak and frites. Best hamburger. Menu changes seasonally

The chef paid his dues and makes reference to his heritage in his offering. The menu changes regularly and The Snack Bar offers interesting specials as well so one wonders what to try. Even the catfish and macaroni and cheese have a different twist. Their seafood comes the coast and is my usual. I had their duck stew the other... More

We are in Oxford a lot, and the Snackbar has become our favorite. Owned by the famous chef John Courance (along with several other great spots in Oxford), it is not a "snack" place for sure. Not priced as high as his City Grocery on the Square, this spot is tucked at the end of a regular old strip mall.... More
