This was not out first meal at Snackbar but it was definitely one of best! Over the last 3 years coming to Oxford to see our boys we try to eat here 1 night of each trip. We love this restaurant for a lot of reasons; consistently good food, nice people, etc. but as we all take on the new... More

The only raw bar in Oxford. Great oyster choices. Diverse menu. Fabulous chef. Gulf shrimp dishes, steak and frites. Best hamburger. Menu changes seasonally

The chef paid his dues and makes reference to his heritage in his offering. The menu changes regularly and The Snack Bar offers interesting specials as well so one wonders what to try. Even the catfish and macaroni and cheese have a different twist. Their seafood comes the coast and is my usual. I had their duck stew the other... More

We are in Oxford a lot, and the Snackbar has become our favorite. Owned by the famous chef John Courance (along with several other great spots in Oxford), it is not a "snack" place for sure. Not priced as high as his City Grocery on the Square, this spot is tucked at the end of a regular old strip mall.... More

I think the title of my review says it all. If you have poor night vision, bring a flashlight as this place is very, very dark inside. Reading the menu can be a challenge as well as actually seeing your food. Perhaps their way of discouraging old people from dining there.

The head chef prepares some great items. The food is really good. The ambiance is nice and the bartenders are great. Some of the servers appear to be inexperienced and could use some additional training.

Overlook the location in a strip mall. This is a creative foodie place. I don't know how they come up with such innovative drinks and food ideas. The snackbar's menu changes seasonally. If you don't have time to go for dinner or can't get reservations, try the bar. Snackbar has some of the most creative drinks combinations that you can't... More

We drove over for the Ala v Ole Miss game and had breakfast at Big Bad Bfast and walked to the game. Afterwards, my son was hungry so we went into Snackbar. Even though it is in a strip mall, the have done a great job with the build out of the space. I had the short ribs with curried... More

The execution of the meal hasn't matched the menu description in three trips. I do love the atmosphere but have been disappointed by the meal three times now.

Executive Chef Vish Bhatt (a 2014 finalist for the James Beard Award as Best Southern Chef) oversees and inspires the creative dishes at this cozy restaurant with his exceptional blend of Indian and traditional Southern flavors. The drinks at the Bar are equally creative and varied and rival the libation experience at Patterson House in Nashville for inspired and complex... More
