Groovy cafe & bakery

Great atmosphere and music, delicious baked raspberry swirls and good coffee. Walking distance from the square and the best bookshop. Music really set the mood. Younge vibe but oldies like us as well feel at home. Don't miss this cafe if you're passing through Oxford.

Ran by here for a quick snack while shopping around the Square. The lady was very friendly and helpful. The cookie was divine!

Only in a college town can you find great little places like this. The food was great and the atmosphere reminded me of all the best things about the cafes of Paris during the great literary era of the early 1900’s. You could see professors and students enjoying coffee and delicious baked goods as they stretched their minds with good... More

This place is just off the square... and we stopped here for an afternoon rest... and each had a latte. The taste is magnificent, but the presentation exceeds any that we've ever had. The coffee and milk are layered in a large glass mug so you can see the layers of the drink. The bakery offerings would have been more... More

I feel like I might have liked it better for lunch as I really enjoy eating real food for breakfast so coffee and a danish are not my idea of breakfast. We went because of the hype and the mass of people hanging out the door. I had read how awful the service is yet that was the one thing... More

MY wife and I ordered two sandwiches to go: a roast beef and cheddar on sourdough and a chicken salad on a croissant. The bread was undistinguished, but the roast beef was so full of gristle, I tossed out half of it. The 'chicken salad' was small pieces of chicken with no chopped celery and nothing to bind it like... More

Bottletree is a wonderful place to have lunch. It is known for it's bakery products but their sandwiches are made from their yummy breads and they have homemade soups daily that are very unusual. Their decor is very unusual and the whole atmosphere reminds me of some place I would have lunched back in the 1960's.

Enjoyed our breakfast in unpretentious surroundings. Unfortunately was not able to do justice to the delicious choice available. The success of this bakery can be judged by how busy it was when we had our breakfast.

I have been traveling to Oxford from Florida to visit family for many years. About 15 years ago, we discovered the Bottletree Bakery. As soon as I know we are headed for Oxford, I start thinking about the Bottletree. My favorite is the brioche. But, all of their pastries are worth an 8 hour drive. Breakfast or lunch, everything is... More

I have been ordering Bottletree's cookie and pastry & platters for about 15 years now to be given to businesses which have been so helpful in running my business. Bottletree bakes and assembled fantastic trays, this year, which were better than ever. I should have taken a photo so that you could see all the cookies, chocolate squares, and mini... More
