Easy to Find from I-20

What a great find! We were traveling from Atlanta and were passing through Meridian at lunch time. We googled our trusty trip advisor and found the oldest restaurant in Mississippi! We arrived in time for Sunday Brunch, served in the Old South tradition. Start with a mimosa and don't miss fried... read more

We ate at the bar upstairs and stayed for trivia night. We were the seniors in the room, for sure. The building is wonderful- old and charming. Service was very friendly. Gumbo was good and I had the shrimp remoulade salad. My husband had a fish dish with an oscar sauce. Food was OK but nothing special- not sure why... More

It’s about a sever-hour drive to New Orleans from Huntsville, which makes stopping at Weidmann’s in Meridian, Mississippi and enjoying a respite from the drive and enjoying a cup of gumbo, crab cakes, fried green tomatoes with 18870 sauce, shrimp and grits, etc., a refreshing, authentic reminder of what awaits you in the Big Easy. Weidmann's is known for it's history in Meridian and it's Black Bottom Pie. I've had several items here including the shrimp and grits and the chicken alfredo pasta which are 2 of my favorite items on the menu.

If you only have time for lunch or dinner, make your one stop in Meridian, MS at Weidmanns restaurant. The locals will tell you the quaint story of this once family-owned restaurant. It's been a landmark in the city since 1875. Charles Frazier and his staff have recaptured the charm of the old restaurant, all the while stepping it up... More

We had a road trip stop in Meridian, MS en route from Chattanooga to New Orleans. We selected Meridian as our halfway point because- as wine and food professionals and hosts of a national iHeart Radio Show, The Connected Table LIVE- we wanted to visit a notable restaurant along the way. Weidmann's is seeped in history and that appealed to... More

We were driving through Meridian and the hotel clerk recommended this place. Our hotel and I gather many in the area have some cards with directions and a 10% off discount We both had some really good fish and the side dishes were good as well. The restaurant is in an old building downtown, nice location to walk around and... More

We met friends here on Sunday. We have been back 3 days since. Absolutely great food and ambience atmosphere. I had the Gumbo, and a shrimp poboy. For dessert my husband had the bread pudding & my favorite was the lemon almond pie. This place is great! They serve drinks too. Flying in driving, or just lost in Meridian. Swing... More
