We were driving on I-20 and someone told us we needed to go to this restaurant. We went through Meridian about supper time so got off and were at the restaurant in just a few minutes. All three meals were great but my son had dessert and he ordered Caramel Cup custard. I tasted it and it was the best... More

There is a reason they have been in business since 1870. They are doing it right. Love discovering good local non-chain restaurants . Great food --great menu --nice atmosphere and homemade fresh items on the menu which is rare these days. We were on a road trip returning with my friend and college bound son who is a picky eater.... Weidmann's was recommended to our family along with a handful of other local restaurants in Meridian. We basically picked it because it wasn't a chain, how serendipitous for our family. We were greeted at our table by Nykolas, our server, who immediately made us feel welcome & like we were the only people he had to take care of. He... More

We were passing by Meridian on I20 and decided to eat at Weidmann's based on its Trip Advisor reviews. The Fried Green Tomatoes with 1870 Sauce (6 perfectly fried green tomato slices with shrimp, mushrooms, tomatoes, and a spicy cream sauce) sounded wonderful and tasted even better. My daughter had a panini and soup special which she liked. It was... More

Save your money and time, not worth the stop. Rude service, below average food. When driving and tired, stick with a chain restuarant.

I went with co workers tonight afterwork and had a great time, great food! From the appetizers, the filet, and dessert! The Filet was huge and cooked just the way I ordered it with enough flavor that you won't need steak sauce. The chef is great! Can't wait to go again!

Stopped in for lunch on our way through town, looking for good southern food. We were underdressed in shorts and flip-flops. This is not a cafe, it is an upscale restaurant. Visited on Saturday - brunch was on, but the full menu was not offered (no black-eyed peas, no butter beans, no catfish). We will not return.

Recently we had the pleasure of dining in this fine, old establishment. What a treat. We were on our 41st anniversary road trip and ended up in Meridian for the evening. Hilton Garden Inn front desk ladies said Weidmann's was the place to eat. They were so right. Cabbage and Lobster and Shrimp Spring Roll were outstanding...So good that I... More

Ate on the second floor at bar level. It was quiet and we were able to conduct business while there. Food was tasty and worth the expenditure.

Great to see an old fashioned downtown restaurant still drawing crowds with good food.. and it is cooked, not prefab and frozen stuff. Full with the Sunday church crowd so I ate in the bar. . .homemade vegetable soup, shrimp and grifts with a few twists -- plum tomatoes and a light cream sauce. . and tested a new dessert... More
