Good southern cooking. Mama Hamils catered our Christmas party and the food was delicious. Roast beef and turkey was excellent and all the vegetables were awesomely seasoned and tasty. I have always heard great things about this place and after eating their food, I will make a point to dine in soon!

What is all the fuss about this place? Just an average buffet. Good variety. Decent fried chicken and meatloaf. Sides were not too good. Service was OK. No different than any other "country buffet".

Our Lions Club has their meetings there twice a month in a private room lunchtime. There are so many people there for lunchtime in their main building -- it is always busy! The food is excellent! You can definitely find something you want to eat! There is something for everyone! Enjoy! All of it is very good -- & the... More

If want to try Southern food, Mama Hamil's is the place to go. The meatloaf is excellent. The ribs are ok. The Front Porch in Hattiesburg has better ribs. The place is chaotic with all the people who come to enjoy the food. The best time is around 1100 for brunch.

I have been going to Mama Hamils for years.. I knew it when it was just a small place called Hamil's. The food is good southern style dishes.. Even the black eye peas is good. They lunch time hours daily during the week and evening hours on select days.. The place is packed from opening to close but they do... More

If you want a good down-home country meal at a reasonable price, go to Hamils. My husband and I found the wide selection of food to be seasoned and cooked just right (no al dente veggies). Several choices of meats were available, but our favorites were the barbeque ribs and fried catfish. Even with a Friday night crowd, seating and... More

Wonderful southern cooking - true comfort food, buffet style. Don't expect to get low-calorie meals here, although there is a huge selection of vegetables. Wide variety of meats as well. The buffet is constantly restocked and maintained. Big lunch crowd.

Mama hamils is a buffet style southern food place. The food is delicious and the price for lunch is well worth it. The only negatives are if you are looking for healthy alternatives they are very few here, they charge close to adult prices for a 3 year old who barely eats anything, and lastly it gets very crowded at... I was traveling with a friend and he used a phone app and spotted this place. We arrived about 1:00 pm on a Saturday. The parking lot was PACKED. We often try for local places and we were not disappointed. This is a Buffet. For a total of $9 (plus tip), we had many salad and veggie options and three... More

I enjoyed pretty much everything about my visit to Mama Hamil's. The setting was great. There were a lot of people in the restaurant, but I was not crowed out. The food presentation was great! Everything was in one location. I didn't have to walk all over the building to get food. The food was absolutely delicious. I will certainly... More
