Not sure there's anything to add but I will put in some pictures of the food. The chicken is the best but don't overlook the array of vegetables. Collard and turnip greens, stewed okra, cucumber & tomato salad. Mr. D is so entertaining, and his son is involved too. Great place, worth a drive from anyplace.

Ate at Mr. D's country store after a day hike on the Natchez Trace National Scenic Trail. This is some of the best fried chicken you will ever eat, the restuarant is located inside an old country store that has not been renovated. The facilities arent the best but the chicken makes up for it. We have eaten here plenty... More

we were driving past and thought this was an old general store... A little surprised when we got inside and discovered it was a restaurant. And really surprised at how darn good the food was. Best chicken I've ever eaten and the sides are great too

One of the best experiences you will have. Buffet lunch is excellent, good variety, and superb service. Can't say enough good things. Worth the drive.

It was here that I learned not to judge a book by its cover. We passed the Store on our way to Rosewood and I remember commenting that the structure looked as though it might blow over in the next big wind. However, several at Rosewood highly recommended the fried chicken lunch that awaited at Old Country Store. We were... More

My husband and I were on our way to New Orleans after visiting Port Gibson, MS. We were told we should have lunch at this place - which was just 10 miles south of Port Gibson and near Nachez Trace. WOW! Great place and the food is out of this world. Best fried chicken and cucumber salad EVER. In fact... More

Never would have stopped here by the outside appearance, but a local recommended it so we went in mid-afternoon. Didn't get the buffet because it was too close to dinner but got some sweet potatoes, fried chicken, field beans, coleslaw, potato salad and cobbler. Everything was perfection - so great that we got an order to go for dinner the... More

My wife and I took a Sunday ride after church. We rode for a while and ended up in Lorman, Ms at the old country store. We had seen it on Alton Brown's Feasting on Asphalt and also on LA Rider. The fried chicken was the best I have ever eaten, bar none. Arthur Davis came out of the kitchen... More
