A hidden gem.

Stopped by on out way out of town from gutting grass at the deer camp. Passed this place 100 times and wondered why they were so busy on Sunday afternoon. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a friendly staff. The buffet was good old southern food. Wow!!!

The chicken, ribs, vegetables and especially the blackberry cobbler (with ice cream) were all delicious! The singing and conversation from Mr. D was great too! Genuine southern host!

After a morning in Vicksburg myself and a couple of friends set off for Nachez down route 61. It was suggested we stop here for lunch. The combination of what can only be described as an antiques/second-hand store with an all you can eat buffet is a genuinely novel concept. Added to this the extremely friendly nature of the owner,... More

Don't worry about driving out of your way to get to this restaurant because it's worth it. The food was great. The chicken is the best I've ever had and I've had a lot.

This restaurant is certainly worth your time if you are passing through. However, if you've watched the Alton Brown clips on YouTube from 2007 and are expecting this to be the highlight of your trip, a few things have changed. Most notably, the prices. I admit, I am a cheapskate, but the $5.95 that was quoted on the episode of... More

Old looking store front and shelves of old neat things to browse and buy. You will be roundly welcomed by the staff and feel immediately at home. Delicious hot buffet with great meats and side. Encouraged to go back for more. Desserts not included in the price but looked wonderful and home baked. Don't pass this place up! Very likely... More

We did get lost a bit with the directions I had coming from Windsor Ruins so a big sign pointing the way to the OLD COUNTRY STORE might be helpful...so our only draw back was we didn't get there fast enough to begin our WONDERFUL meal of some great Fried Chicken and some of the Best Pork Chops ever! This... More

We stopped at the end of our bicycling trip just for a rest and a soft drink but were delighted at the charm and hospitality of this restaurant. So sorry we were not ready to eat as the food looked and smelled delicious

My husband had stopped here once before and couldn't stop raving about the fried chicken. It's fantastic! Crispy and moist. Lovely owner and nice employees. I'm so stuffed!

My husband and I had our first meal together here as newlyweds, and we couldn't have made a better choice! Excellent buffet, all sorts of options, but you have just GOT to get the friend chicken! Dinning area is in the middle of an old store, with items available for sale all around you. Dessert was wonderful...blackberry cobbler and apple... More
