Description: Please add this restaurant. I found it when we stayed in Port Gibson, MS. it is about 8 miles out of town. It is on yelp. You can see it here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/old-country-store-lorman-2, it is also on roadfood.com. It is very inexpenisive and the food is very good. Moreover, the owner is a character. He sings to you. The waitresses treat you like relatives. It is truly a wonderful experience.

Excellent fried chicken, and great classic sides. I felt as if I was eating at grandma's house for Thanksgiving. Each piece of fried chicken was perfectly cooked. Must visit if in the area or passing through.

Unique, family-run, buffet-style restaurant with fantastic fried chicken and lots of atmosphere. No sign on the outside of the joint--it looks like an old country store with a long narrow porch across the front of it. Big surprise inside is white linen tablecloths, all set up and ready for you, and a warm welcome to come on in and fill... More

Decided to visit once we heard about this restaurant on The Food Network. Alton Brown from Feeding on Asphalt suggested that this was the best fried Chicken in the world so we were curious to try for ourselves. We pulled up to what appeared to be an old mercantile store. To our delight we entered into fried chicken heaven! There... More

Can't go wrong with the fried chicken and peach cobbler. Went for lunch got the buffet. Not many people there ( got there around 11). Friendly waitress.

Alton Brown and Southern Living have hyped up the expectations for this place, which is a double edged sword judging by a few reviews I've read. Overall this restaurant is very good. Even though it is called The Old Country Store don't go expecting much of a real store like setting. It is a restaurant that also has random items... More

I love Mr. D's Old Country Store! Its like eating at home. A friendly open dining room, with very friendly attentive service, and the food is fantastic! The fried chicken has been featured on Food Network's show where Alton Brown travels, as well as other shows.

Stumbled on the Old Country Store reviews on Trip Advisor while driving Rt. 61 on the Natchez Trace Highway on our twice yearly drive to & from NJ & Mexico. Wasn't sure what we'd find inside when we pulled up, but glad we decided to check it out. The name says it all. Very unique. The food is all homemade... More

We ate at the Old Country Store and enjoyed every bite. Besides the 'best fried chicken in the world' (Mr D said this - he could be right!), the buffet had a wide assortment of vegetables. We grow and cook our own vegetables, so we are kind of fussy about how they taste. Three different kind of greens, lima beans,... More

This is a buffet style restaurant. The fried chicken really is as good as everyone says. However, you normally have to wait for fresh batches to be put out and they are quickly devoured. It's a bit pricey for a country buffet and they don't tell you, but the dessert is not included. There was an odd smell the day... More
