The hibachi takeout took a while to prepare, but it was good. We would eat there again, but may prefer to dine-in.

The food is great. I suggest Sukiyaki Steak it is delicious. The part of town it is in is not great but safe. They have one in Clinton also that is just as good maybe even better. This is a family owned business. The night prices are higher than lunch prices.

Bonsai is a delicious hibachi, and sushi restaurant, the biggest problem is it needs a deep cleaning and a much needed re-do in the renovation area, sad, that the owners don't take any pride in this business,

THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE! My husband and I recently visited for lunch one day during the week. We love Habachi however Bonsai is not the place. They need to invest in vents over the grills. Its dark and smokey. If you have asthma or problems breathing do not eat here. The smoke lingers in the room and it looks like... More

Love Japanese food. Have been to many Japanese restaurants thru the years. We were in Jackson Ms with a group of 13 on December 14th,2012.Decided to eat Japanese food due to some in our party had never tried it. I'm afraid they never will again after this night. Upon arrival to Bonsai,we were told by the young man at the... More

They prepared minute rice prior to stir frying it. After stir frying the rice they drowned our food with soy sauce. When they served us our meal it was a mess. Rice, eggs and peas were everywhere. The rice was so hard I thought I was eating on small rocks. I had veggies and scallops with my dish. The cook... More

For some reason or another, I had never been to a Japanese Steakhouse so my wife suggested Bonsai in Jackson. After calling my cousin who lives there and he recommended Bonsai, we decided to go. Our chef was fantastic! He knew all the tricks from flipping scrambled egg into your open mouth from across the table, to onion volcanoes for... More

Bonsai has several different sushi options for people that don't like "traditional sushi". If you don't like raw sushi, they have many cooked rolls and they will allow you to customize your roll the way you want to.
