This was a high point on trip to Jackson. A real place, real history and a friendly feeling. A place I would go to on a regular basis if I lived there. Great chocolate pie ! Pay attention to the hours, tried to go back for Sat lunch but was not open

This local treasure has been around for at least 25 years and it is a gem. Ecclectic, a great place to hear live music, nice bar and very laid back. The food is the star however and come just for that. Made from scratch pies (we are starting with dessert because even though we were too full to order any,... More

This was hands down the best po boy I've ever had and I love po boys! The bread was fresh and homemade very fluffy and delicious. My husband and I came here on a road trip from Dallas TX to Charlotte NC we were referred by a friend. It was in between lunch and dinner and we still had a... More

Great place with lots for the mind to do. The woman calling Trivia was funny. The food was okay, I had the fried mushrooms. The drinks were outstanding. Bravo Bartender. ;) You made it a great night. Margarita on the rocks....yum

Traveling on business and looking for dinner with a local flavor. Good selection of Mississippi craft beers and a nice variety on the menu. Food was delicious and the service was great.

I stopped in for lunch while staying in downtown Jackson. Although not my first visit here it is always a pleasure to spend some time. It is a little out of the main stream of things and appears to be in a renovated warehouse, so you may have to look for it if you do not know someone local to... More

Gumbo is great and so are hot tamales and onion rings. Daily fish sandwich specials vary from tuna to mahi, but all are delicious.

Off the beaten track in the downtown area of Jackson, this venue offers much for a pleasant Saturday night. The dishes from gumbo to catfish were nicely prepared. The bluegrass music was entertaining--conversation was possible as well. And the waitress even left the dining room to secure a particular mixed drink next door.

I have been to Hal and Mal's many times for music. Always great. Good bar and not expensive. Hal and Mal White are community icons. But their restaurant has always been mediocre. I think it has slipped further. We came in about 8:45 before the music. There were few people in the restaurant, while other places in town were packed.... More
