Stopped by when in Jackson for one night and thought we'd get there really early for lunch as they opened at 11:00. Well, by about 11:20 the place was almost full inside. The buffet lunch is comprehensive and great value at about $14 in total. Add in a couple of sodas and a total of less than $32 is really... More

The buffet keeps getting more expensive (and that's your only choice). Excellent skinless fried chicken, but the rest of the food is barely acceptable. If you want to see some semi-famous Mississippi state officials and legislators, come for a look, but don't expect great food.

We went here for a late lunch on a recent Sunday afternoon with a large family group. We were seated immediately, and told that we might want to wait a few minutes to go up to get food as they were refreshing the buffet. We did that, but even after waiting several minutes, we found the buffet to be pretty... More

My daughter talked me into going to this restaurant because the fried chicken was supposed to be outstanding. We were there on Sunday, May 24th. I don't mind small buffets, but I was really looking forward to the chicken along with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans I had seen in a few pictures. There were none of the... More

Traveling through Jackson checked with TripAdvisor to find a local place and the name popped right out. Read a review and entered the address in the GPS. I had no ideal we would need up down at the Capitol. We drove up to an old beautiful house with a parking lot crawling with people. We walked up to the porch,... More

I had lunch at Two Sisters Kitchen yesterday, May 7, 2015. The restaurant is located close to the down town area of Jackson. It is in an old house. The restaurant is a buffet style restaurant, and it has a limited selection on the buffet. This was my first time to eat there, and there was no instructions except I... More

Southern and I do mean Southern food. Fried and baked chicken, fried okra, butter beans, black-eyed peas, grits, corn bread, collard greens. I suspect that the reason it is so good is that they use what most southerners used to use in their cooking, good ole bacon drippings. Don't come here if you are on a diet but if you... More

We went to Two Sisters in Jackson, Mississippi to find an old fashioned southern home where they served the best of old southern soul food. The best fried chicken you will have melt in your mouth. And all the sides from the mashed potatoes to the fresh greens make it a great complete meal. But you have to top it... More

Imagine you have a distant relative who you don't know very well, but when she hears you're traveling through the south she invites you for lunch. That is what it's like to dine with the Two Sisters. You will find a "welcome ya'all" at the door, no-frills home cooking, and a seat at a table in a dilapidated room unchanged... More
