The food and two sister's beats almost any other lunch venues in Jackson. The fried catfish and the bread pudding are simply wonderful.

I'm so glad they do not have a restaurant like this in Mobile, AL. I would weigh 500 lbs. Delicious, home cooked, southern meal at its finest! Tasted like my mother's southern cooking and man could she cook! My seven year old said that the bread pudding with chocolate sauce was the best dessert he had ever tasted. Must try... More

Greeted by friendly staff upon entering the rustic home converted to restaurant. There were lots of locals. Since everything is non traditional to what one expects at a.restaurant, the cashiers greet and briefly explain how the buffet works, so there was little confusion to how things worked. After reading reviews, I tried every item in the buffet. The fried chicken... More

My boyfriend and I are driving cross country and wanted to stop in Jackson for the culture and amazing food. We read the reviews for the best local southern food and this was the by far the place to go. We stumbled upon it right when they opened around 11, and good thing we did, because twenty minutes later it... More

People standing on the porch waiting to get in, usually a good sign. Placed was jammed..12:10 PM. Lunch buffet $12.50 that includes tax/drink. Food was southern and hot and good. Even the apple cobbler that left that sweet taste in your mouth to face the rest of the day. 12:50 PM outter there. Very well run restaurant. I'll be back...

Just like my Grandmother used to cook. Fried chicken is second to none and the hamburger steak smothered in tomato gravy melts in your mouth. All of the veggies are great especially the creamed corn. Be sure and try a cup of their vegetable soup as well. Personal favorite dessert is the apple crisp. Sunday after church can be crowded... More

Never had soul food before and was anxious to try everything. Andrew Zimmern said this was the best fried chicken he ever tasted, and he was right. Also tried grits, collard greens, sweet potatoes, corn muffin, mashed potatoes, black eyed peas and apple crisp. Didn't care for the black eyed peas, but everything else was wonderful. Lovely day, so we... More

We were visiting from California and my wife, son, and I had lunch here. Everything was perfect. While waiting for a table we sat on the wood rocking chairs on the porch. You felt like your Aunt from the south was inside making the perfect southern meal. The food was over the top wonderful. It was exactly how we imagined... More
