Solid Choice

The pecan crusted fish and mashed potatoes were awesome. The brownie and the caramel crunch deserts need more work though. Great service and overall experience.

The Sin City BBQ shrimp appetizer was very good. Service was ok but not what you may expect in an upscale restaurant.

The onion rings were salty but the restaurant removed charge. Otherwise, I enjoyed my steak and the rest of the meal. Also, the bar had good bourbon selection.

Chicago quality steaks with a southern flair. Try the fried green tomatoes with your thick ribeye or filet.

A meal is a sum of its parts. When I rate a restaurant it is usually on the entire experience. Unfortunately two sides brought this restaurant down to poor. First what was good. The service was very attentive. Second I had the duck breast which came out medium as ordered and crispy on the outside. The meat was solid and... More

As a Native New Yorker, I've eaten at some world renowned Steakhouses, and I rate Char in my Top 5! They feature Allen Brothers Steaks, which is one of the finest you can buy. Go with the specials, which usually includes a 6 or 8 ounce filet, that will melt in your mouth. If 'Big Mike' is on the Grill,... More

My wife and I were passing thru Jackson and stopped for the evening. We decided to look for a steakhouse and the hotel desk clerk recommended Chop, after checking it out in Trip Adviser, we booked a table thru Open Table. It was a great choice. My wife had the filet and I had the bone in pork chop. They... More

Got there 11:30 to packed house. Waited only 10 min and got seated and server MJ got us a couple of high priced bloody mary's to hold us over to the main course. I got the lunch special, pecan crusted talapia on a bed of garlic mashed potatoes, very good. Wife got the chopped steak with a couple of sides,... More

It may be that Char was chosen because in the entry, there are pictures of notable Mississippians. One of those pictured is Lyman Hellums, color announcer for Ole Miss football for 41 years. He was our cousin, we were in town for his funeral. We could not get reservations for our size group until 8 PM, so our dinner was... More
