Apothecary

Brent's looks amazing, very old school diner that's all clean and shiny. But I went to visit Apothecary, the speakeasy in the back. What a lovely experience. I was there on a special New Orleans theme night, complete with bartenders who'd come up for the night. Wound up talking for awhile to one of... read more

In search of a good breakfast in the land of IHOP and The Awful House, I decided to try Brent's Drugs. At first glance the nostalgic decor is inviting and suggests that a pleasant experience is in store. I was greeted promptly by the server and was seated at the bar along with the two other customers who were in... More

Went with friends for the first time. Had the patty melt with chili cheese fries. It was really tasty. Classic burger and fries joint. Had the Cookie Monster for desert. Lots of Oreos and calories! Interesting atmosphere, better than fast food for sure. Old music, old chairs/booths, overall nice stop in Jackson.

I had lunch here and it certainly has a neat history. The service was great and food was good, but I was a bit shocked when the bill came. Just seemed like a lot to pay for a simple lunch.

I've been here several times before and I swear I have a different experience every time. The food is never terrible, but has been between average and amazing. Funny thing is, I've never tried one of their hand crafted sodas. Good value for the price though.

it was like taking a step back in time when entering Brents. The milkshake was a great. I stopped in this place so my son could experience what it had to be like when his grandparents were young. It is like taking a step back in history. We didn't eat a meal; however the milkshake was incredible.

Mid 20th century southern charm with a few updates to the standard drug store counter menu. The atmosphere is far more appealing than the food.

Walking through a closed diner to a speakeasy in the back? Totally awesome. But that is where it ended.... The drinks are all specialty and sound awesome but were just terrible. They were so strong and the in house tonic was swill. Place was packed and people seemed to be enjoying themselves so it couldn't have been all bad, just... More

Was visiting Jackson this past weekend and had seen Brent's many times in the past. Got to stop in for a late breakfast. The decor has not changed in probably 50 years at least and is just absolutely CLASSIC DINER style. Loved it!!! Waiter was great and the food was good! If you like diners, this is a can't miss!!!...
