I am always looking for the nontraditional places to eat. After reading the reviews on TA we decided to stop in on our way to NOLA. My wife and I split a combination plate consisting of pulled pork, ribs and brisket and all three were great. We will most defiantly stop here the next time through.

I used to go to Leatha's years ago when it was in another town in a broken down shack by train tracks with a curtain for the bathroom door. I couldn't have cared less. The food is THAT good. There is only one leathas anywhere and I mean an-y-where.

We stopped here on a trip that was dedicated to barbecue and Leatha's didn't disappoint. We got the ribs and they were fall-off-the-bone tender! The sides were also good, especially the cole slaw. The sauce on the ribs is definitely sweet, but delicious. To top off the meal we got the pecan pie which was also excellent. Don't miss this... More

I ordered the 6 bone rack of ribs with beans and slaw. The ribs were tender and fell off the bones. The beans were seasoned just right with just a hint of spices. The slaw was creamy and chopped just right. My wife's regular size pulled bar-b-que sandwich was piled high with tender meat and creamy slaw- so much meat... More

Not fancy by a long shot but oh so good, be careful not to hurt yourself. Old southern charm and good ole family recipes.

Leathas' was a great find. The family story is the reason for their success. The ribs were huge and perfectly smoked. Good luck picking sides, they're all great and homemade. Leathas son gave me a tour and demonstration of their smoker. Never a trip through Mississippi without stopping!!

We were in town for a college volleyball tournament and went here to eat with the whole team. Even thought it was very last minute, Leatha's was able to accommodate our large party of 30+ people. Our waitress impressively took our large order without writing anything down and got everyone's order correct! It was quite amazing to watch her repeat... More

Cole slaw was honey-mustard based and too sweet. Ribs were good, but overpriced. Potatoes were ok, a little greasy. Tea was good. Couldn't finish my meal (which doesn't happen often) because I felt like I had eaten more grease than i could handle. If I wanted to spend $16 on lunch, I would expect a little better.

Great country restaurant. If you don't like Bar-B-Que, don't even try it. Everything is simple; the floor, the ceiling, the lights, even the menu(there are NO special requests). The ribs were so good, we came back later in the day for a take-home order. Would highly recommend this Southern favorite.

To be honest, I was personally not a big fan of BBQ. But having said that Leatha's gave me a totally different perspective! With awesome food, relaxed homely atmosphere, great service, and an affordable menu this is easily the best place to eat in Hattiesburg. Definitely worth a try.
