I have eaten here twice over the past two years. Neither time was I impressed. The sauce is VERY sweet. The chicken is average and the pulled pork below average. They do not serve brisket. Best bet is probably ribs. I believe this place used to be good many years ago but I think it has slid downhill.

The secret to good ribs, is how pliable and soft the meat is. I don't know about you but I hate having to gnaw on a bone for the last piece of beef or pork. That is NOT a problem here. All of the BBQ here is slow roasted for hours and falls right off of the bone. I had... More

After hearing a friend sing the praises of Leatha's, I just had to give it a try. I must say I wasn't disappointed. The service was great, as was the atmosphere; plain, simple, no frills structure, designed for the creation and consumption of some of the best ribs I have ever eaten.

Leatha's BBQ is a hidden gem. It can be tricky to find; it's tucked behind and next to the DQ. From the outside, it doesn't look like much. But boy oh boy, is the food ever good. By far the best BBQ (and I've had a lot of BBQ all over the country) I've ever had. The sides are also... More

My wife and I were visiting Hattiesburg for the first time in 15 years. We were amazed to see the tremendous growth that has taken place. Fifteen years ago, Leatha's was a hole-in-the-wall BBQ joint located 12-15 miles from town. The food was wonderful but it was hard to get out to get it. Over the years they have moved... More

We chose Hattiesburg for a 1 night getaway because we wanted to eat at Leatha's. We go as often as we can and it's ALWAYS excellent!

We were staying the night in Hattiesburg on our way to New Orleans and wanted to find somewhere local to eat dinner. I used Tripadvisor to look up local restaurants and Leatha's BBQ was #1 so we decided to try it. It did not disappoint! It looks a little like a dive and is hidden from the road, but don't... More

The ribs were the best ever and the cole slaw was I couldn't leave without taking some home for the next day. It is a bit pricey but worth every penny

This restaurant has an awesome family atmosphere and incredible food that you can tell is made with love! The ladies who served us were all so pleasant and courteous. The gentlemen who were cooking also did a phenomenal job! You can tell this restaurant is very much a part of the community and if I am ever in Hattiesburg again... More

Leatha's BBQ, is a great option in this area of Mississippi. It has a wonderful staff. It is a hole in the wall, but I prefer a hole in the wall, when it comes to BBQ. The menu is limited, but that's usually how it is in a lot of BBQ restaurants. This means they are looking for quality, not... More
