Great Food, Cheap

My friend and I stopped here for lunch after leaving Biloxi. The place is quite big, but we were the only two there. It seems like it used to be more popular. I had a pot roast po' boy with Mississippi fries, and my buddy had a salad with cold cuts. Both meals were inexpensive, delicious, and... read more

I've done lunch here a dozen times. Nothing ever excites me about their menu, but when I'm looking for a wholesome cooked lunch, I do enjoy a plate of the pork chops with mash potatoes. Just about every special I tried of their's has been on the bland side.

The Port City Cafe is known for good seafood in a casual environment in downtown Gulfport half a block off of U.S. Highway 49.. We both had the shrimp poboy and fries for lunch and we were not disappointed. The bread was fresh and the shrimp plentiful. There are two rooms and we chose the one without all the awful... More

Service was very friendly and waitress bent over backwards to serve our group of 9. Fabulous beignets so don't miss that. A very close second (a 99 vs 100) to Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter. In fact some of our folks liked this one better. Omelets were terrific, hot and big. Don't know about other meals, but breakfast... More

Even with only two tables of customers, the service was totally inadequate. The seafood platter was delivered fried, when the patron ordered it grilled or broiled for health reasons. The poboy was delivered "dressed" after it was requested plain. Several other snaffu's were made with a few of the other orders, but to be fair, the food that was delivered... More

Great location downtown but very disappointed in the food. I was very particular in choosing the right sandwich (shrimp poboy) which the menu stated came on French Bread. When it arrived, it was on a hoagie bun-disappointing and did not reflect the description on the menu. Shrimp had a good flavor-bread very disappointing and definitely not french bread. My husband... What I liked ... a great home style breakfast with eggs, thick sliced bacon, hash browns and toast. The coffee is good and the refills are free. Note, this is an older established business, in the heart of town so don't expect fine linen and sterling silver flatware. You can expect a loud crowd, enjoying fiends and a great meal.... More

This restaurant is located right downtown in Gulfport. Very good gumbo☺i believe this place is only open for lunch. We had a fried fish platter. I forgot what kind of fish, but i remember it was very good and gumbo with it. Very nice relaxing and nautical atmosphere, with light blue walls and sold lighting. To me, atmosphere is a... More

Walked out! NO SERVICE, Disgusting food served out of a can and warmed in a Microwave! Literally! Take a look in the kitchen when your there and pay attention to the food your served. Look familiar?! Yep, just opened that morning. We had to beg for drinks and greeting and just about to walk out. The owner was just a... More
