Ranked #12 of 189 restaurants in Gulfport
Certificate of Excellence 2013
Cuisines: American
Dining options: Breakfast/Brunch, Reservations
Description: The after Katrina renovation of the Gulfport Historical District is an architectural gem. This restaurant is located in one of its beautiful old buildings, a prior bank, and the inside is the typical modern conversion: exposed bricks, high ceilings, large windows, smart decor and stylist tableware. The atmosphere is relaxed, spiffy, casual. The menu is extensive (beef/seafood) and interesting. As newcomers, we ordered the Kobe burger w/fries ($12) and the Cajun Pasta Supreme w/salad ($15). Good food, great value, but what makes this place outstanding is the dedicated attention to detail - delicious hot bread, piping hot steak fries right from the fryer, a small salad with impecable presentation and walnuts and smoked Gouda to boot... Grand. And the service - a courteous, professional young waiter who anticipated our desires (good staff has this ability) and fulfilled them effective and expeditiously. Truly endearing. Places like this make our escapades from New Orleans to the Gulf beaches a true joy. Of course, we'll return

No matter where I go I always see bad reviews on here from people that just seem to be overly critical. I had a great experience tonight. I got the surf and turf and my steak was cooked to my request, and the service was excellent. The bread and salad was great. The salad dressing and honey butter that came... More

Grilled red fish was great! Side of fresh veggies was over-powered with garlic. Husband had a crawfish dish which was also over-powered with garlic. Family restaurant--lots of families on a Friday night.

It was about 8:20pm on a wed night when me and my wife stopped in. I ordered the Mariner Filet and she ordered the Filet and crab cake. For an appetizer we ordered the crawfish bread. The crawfish bread was good, but nothing amazing. The salads were very good, really enjoyed the pecans in the salad. Our steaks were cooked... More

It should have been a sign when the waiter had an attitude. You good tell he did not want to be there. The salad was very wilted and small, baked potato was hard & the bread was even harder. The first steak I got was full of fat & overlooked. The second steak was also full of fat but was... More

The food at this place is always great, no matter what you order. The house salad has an amazing honey balsamic house dressing that's to die for. It gets very busy on weekends so service can lack during the very busy times, however people will always treat you great even if they can't get to you as quickly as they... More

Touted as a steak place, but the ribeye was a thin slice. They claimed it was the correct weight, but I'm not sure. Thin steaks are hard to cook rare and this one was no exception.

The Lookout Steakhouse is a bit of a classy restaurant although they served us in our Jeans and Sweatshirts and were very gracious. We were early but we were seated right away. The interior of the restaurant is lovely with white tablecloths and cloth napkins, (which we enjoy). The service was very good, not too fussy, but did not ignore... More

The food is always great here. On this visit our waiter did a terrible job of taking care of us and paying attention to details. I asked him several questions about the menu and his only answer was, "I don't know." He never brought us our bread to go with out meal, I ordered sweet tea and on refills he... More

My husband and I ate at the Lookout in downtown Gulfport for the first time and it was during lunch service on Saturday, 02/15/14. We were both pleasantly surprised at the offerings other than steak that were on the menu. I had the fried green tomatoes with roumalade sauce as an appetizer and these were some of the best fried...
