The after Katrina renovation of the Gulfport Historical District is an architectural gem. This restaurant is located in one of its beautiful old buildings, a prior bank, and the inside is the typical modern conversion: exposed bricks, high ceilings, large windows, smart decor and stylist tableware. The atmosphere is relaxed, spiffy, casual. The menu is extensive (beef/seafood) and interesting. As newcomers, we ordered the Kobe burger w/fries ($12) and the Cajun Pasta Supreme w/salad ($15). Good food, great value, but what makes this place outstanding is the dedicated attention to detail - delicious hot bread, piping hot steak fries right from the fryer, a small salad with impecable presentation and walnuts and smoked Gouda to boot... Grand. And the service - a courteous, professional young waiter who anticipated our desires (good staff has this ability) and fulfilled them effective and expeditiously. Truly endearing. Places like this make our escapades from New Orleans to the Gulf beaches a true joy. Of course, we'll return

A Local Favorite Steak and Seafood Restaurant

Restaurant is in picturesque old restored building with high ceilings in downtown Gulfport. Service is very good. Menu is extensive. I and my family and friends have eaten here many, many times and all the foods we have gotten have always been very good. Prices are reasonable.

It was good. also had the salad with honey chicken and it was ok too. not sure I would go back at least for lunch but the menu... More

Restaurant has a nice ambiance and friendly people. Wait staff was overworked and slow to acknowledge or respond to requests. Food was great though.

Their pace time for food and drinks are awful. Do not sit upstairs if you want service. I've been here 4 (not by choice) times now and they still can't cook it medium rare on first try.

Just got home from a very sad evening. Met up with a group of friends (20) to have a meal and a little social time. Arrived at 6:00 pm and finally got finished at 9:00 pm. Most of the time was waiting to eat, waiting for check and just waiting. Food was cold, received main course and had to ask... More

Went to Lookout on a Wed night with a business associate. Seated quickly, restaurant about 50% occupied. I was really not very hungry and thought I would just get an appetiser or a very lite dish... Then I saw the shrimp and crawfish etouffee.... A large bowl soon arrived filled with gulf shrimp, crawfish (or as they are know in... More

Great atmosphere, Great wait staff, terrible steak. How do you call yourself a steak house? I've honestly had better steaks at Waffle House!

Stumbled into this place because our original place was closed for renovation. Decor is warehouse cool; exposed brick, wood columns. Seating was easy, waitress experienced. We ordered two seafood dishes, both were excellent. My only complaint was the sweet potato fries, ordinary and not hot. The Lookout is a very good choice your meal.

My family and have always wanted to try out Lookout Steakhouse after hearing great reviews from some friends of ours. We are very familiar with the downtown Gulfport area and frequent Half Shell Oyster House and Tony's Brick Oven Pizzeria often. The building and interior were beautiful and we were promptly seated when arriving. The hostess and waitress were incredibly... More
